Reinarebelde Adorada On Your Face Contour + Color Trio Review

BEHOLD the Reinarebelde On Your Face Contour + Color Trio in Adorada

AvailabilityThis retails at $23 on reinarebelde.com.
Would I buy this? I'm not sure, if I were honest I usually don't think to buy face palettes like this because I'll use each product individually and buy specific contour, blush, and highlight shades that I prefer as singles.
NotesI've found this formula to be creamy for a powder formulation - the shades really melt into the skin beautifully and blend quite nicely. They all have buildable coverage so you can go for a natural look or do something a little bolder. This palette is also designed to function as eyeshadow and while, technically, you can wear any contour, blush, and highlight shades as eyeshadow this particular palette being designed for that means it won't potentially irritate folks with sensitive eyelids. This particular palette is developed for fair to medium skin tones so please keep that in mind when reading my color descriptions. Without further ado, the colors:
This is a matte bronze shade. The website describes this as being cool-toned but I disagree. I am very fair and somewhat of a mostly neutral undertone with a very slight hint of pink coolness and this pulls warm on me. It works as a contour shade but it gives more of a sunkissed type of bronze sculpted look versus that really carved out contour that something with a hint of gray would give me.
This is a satiny, pearlescent warm-toned pink. It gives a very pretty, soft flushed look.
I personally absolutely love the highlighter because it's giving that 2016, obnoxious reflective shine that I am here for. It is a metallic off-white shade with a hint of a warm glow to it.

Please let me know if you have any comments or questions.

Disclaimer: I received this palette as a gift from a friend, all opinions are my own.

March 2025 Arrivals

Ok folksickles! I'm back to replenishing on things that I'm running out of and buying mostly just necessities.

1. e.l.f. 16HR Hydrating Camo Concealer in Fair RoseI'm running low on my current tube and decided that perhaps the Fair Beige shade is a hair too dark, so I'd give this a try. I'm a little wary that it might be too light, but I suppose we'll see.

2. e.l.f. Suntouchable Whoa Glow Broad Spectrum SPF 30 Sunscreen in Sunlight: I'm running low on my current primer and wanted to try something else that was also glow-giving so this was a good option.

3. wet n wild photo focus Dewy Foundation in Rose Ivory: I'm running low on my current bottle of foundation so I figured I'd replenish.

4. The Ordinary 100% Plant-Derived Squalane: I was on the very verge of running out of this and ordered a replacement right quick. Luckily I got it in wherein as soon as one bottle ended I received the other one so it was a seamless transition. This is an item I really don't want to be without due to the extent that it reduces redness in my skin and helps to smooth my skin's texture.

I received the following two products as samples with my squalane oil purchase:

5. Sulwhasoo First Care Activating Serum VI: I keep sticking to the same serums lately and while I probably won't be switching, I decided to try something new out.

6. Kerastase Chronologiste Youth Revitalizing Hair Mask: This is a hair brand I've wanted to try for ages now but their products are pricey and I'm a girly that, despite having very fine hair, it gets quite dry so I figured trying out a hair mask would be a good way to go.

7. L'Oreal Infallible 24H Fresh Wear Bronzer in 250 Light: I'm running low on my current bronzer and had coupons for L'Oreal so I decided to give this one a try.

8. wet n wild Rose Addiction Photo Focus 3-in-1 Primer Water: I was running low on my setting spray and since my local CVS stopped carrying Milani (the one I've been getting) and I had all these coupons I just decided to get this old standby.

Please let me know if you have any comments or questions.

Disclaimer: I purchased everything listed above with the exception of the sample Sulwhasoo and Kerastase products.

Bronzer Review: L'Oreal Paris Infallible 24H Fresh Wear Bronzer

I introduce to you the L'Oreal Paris Infallible 24H Fresh Wear Bronzer in 250 Light.

Availability: This retails at  around $12.50 - $18 for 9 g (.31 oz) and is available at lorealparisusa.com as well as at drugstores that carry L'Oreal.
Would I buy this again?: Possibly.
Notes: Color-wise, to me this is a soft, warm-toned light tan shade with a satiny finish. This glides on beautifully and provides me with a very subtle sunkissed appearance. I was afraid this shade might be a little too light, it swatches light too, but it actually looks really great on my skin-tone when applied to my face so I'm glad I didn't go any darker. Despite its satiny finish, it does look natural on the skin as a contour product, especially if you generally tend to go for a "natural" matte (as in, not entirely powdery and flat) or dewy look. Even though it appears to be a bit sparkly in the pan, I find that it looks matte on my skin. It's super silky and easy to blend but I also wish that these bronzers came a bit more cool-toned so that fair folk could use them for a more contoured look, as this shade is a bit too warm to look like a realistic shadow on me.

Please let me know if you have any questions or comments.

DisclaimerI bought this myself.

July 2024 Empties

All my monthly trash on display for you to see. :P

1. Pixi Summertime Beauty Bronzer: I'm sad to have run out of this bronzer as it was actually a good contour product for me - it was neither too gray nor too orange-y on my skin-tone and despite the shimmer in it, it didn't look weird or gaudy.

2. Edmong Honeybee Water Cream: This is a really nice, refreshing, hydrating gel that I enjoyed using in this hot season. Despite my skin being dry, I feel like in combination with my sleeping mask that this provided adequate hydration for me.

3. Ardell Original Demi Wispies x2: I love that these lashes are very easy to work with, glue close to the lash-line, and are very natural-looking. In fact I wish all lashes had lash bands like the ones on these because they make it so easy to glue these lashes on without them popping off anywhere the way that thick lash bands tend to do. My only issue is that if I take a nap and have these lashes on, they tend to bend easily and never go back to their original shape.

4. Physicians Formula Eye Booster Waterproof Ultra-Fine Liquid Eyeliner: I've had this eyeliner for a while now and while it's still working ok, I'm replacing it for hygiene reasons.

5. method body coconut, rice milk, shea butter simply nourish body wash: I really liked this body wash. It has a almost salted caramel, coconut scent to it that's warm, toasty, and pleasant. This also foams up nicely and feels hydrating on the skin.

6. Maybelline Great Lash Mascara: I feel like this is a nice starter mascara because its wand shape makes it easy to use and it gives the lashes a natural lengthened and volumized look. That said, I'm looking for something that gives my lashes more oomph.

7. Duo Quick-Set Striplash Adhesive: I like this glue because it does tend to set a bit quicker versus the brush-on glues. While I still have plenty left, because of hygiene reasons I'm replacing it.

8. Kari Gran Cinnamon Pimenta Berry Naked Lip Whip: I enjoyed how hydrating this lap balm is, but that said, I wasn't the biggest fan of its flavoring.

9. e.l.f. Halo Glow Liquid Filter: I like how this product gave me a lit-from-within type of glow to my skin but that said, I purchased this in the Fair shade and I think I need to go lighter because it was a bit too orangey for me.

10. Christophe Robin Cleansing Purifying Scrub: I personally really like this scrub for getting rid of any flakes from dandruff or product buildup on my scalp; I feel like it's deeply cleansing and great at keeping dandruff at bay. That said, because of the salt in here, it can be a bit stripping to the hair itself and I recommend following it up with a deeply nourishing hair mask.

11. Equate Island Almond & Shea Shea Sugar Scrub: I really like that these scrubs are gritty without being overly abrasive and are at an affordable price point. This has a nice, subtle almond scent that's sort of reminiscent of a cookie or the inside of an almond croissant, I like that it isn't overpowering.

12. Bath & Body Works Cucumber Melon Shea Butter Cleansing Bar: I love how long-lasting these are compared to their liquid soaps and wish that they'd release more fragrances in the cleansing bar form. I know some people use these as alternatives to liquid body washes but I use them almost exclusively as hand soap. This smells delicious and has a rich, creamy lather. It also leaves my skin feeling really hydrated.

13. Femme Fatale Cat's Eye Nail Polish: Funny enough, I was painting my nails with this as I'm writing this blog and the nail polish is literally on its tail end, there's a bit on the bottom but I can't get to it with the way the brush and bottle are set up so I'm giving up. It's pretty and a fun color so I enjoyed it while it lasted.

14Dove revitalizing cherry and chia milk body wash: This body wash has a yummy cherry scent and a creamy lather. As I mentioned before, I like to use these to shave with.

15. berkley jensen Scented baby wipes Green Tea & Cucumber: These are great for wiping down surfaces, especially when my makeup collection gets a bit messy or dusty and are also great for removing swatches from my hands/arms.

16. one+other Pro-Strength Nail Polish Remover Dip: I like this dip for my fingernails. It being 100% acetone means it does a fairly quick job of getting my nail polish off, and the little scrubbers in this help remove more stubborn glitter nail polish.

17. wet n wild photofocus Translucent Loose Setting Powder: I really love this setting powder because it gives my skin a very soft, natural finish without emphasizing any dry or crusty spots. It also looks nice and smooth on my undereye area - although I will say it does tend to crease occasionally, especially on my left undereye.

Disclaimer: I purchased all of the products mentioned above with the exception of the Kari Gran product, which was provided for review. All opinions are my own.

Bronzer Review: Physicians Formula Light Bronzer Butter Bronzer

I introduce to you the Physicians Formula Butter Bronzer in Light Bronzer.

Availability: This retails at  around $16.99 for 11 g (.38 oz) and is available at physiciansformula.com as well as at drugstores that carry Physician's Formula.
Would I buy this again?: Possibly in a darker shade.
Notes: Color-wise, to me this is a soft, warm-toned light sand shade with a satiny finish. This glides on beautifully and provides me with a very subtle sunkissed appearance. Honestly I'm finding that, despite how fair I clearly am, it's almost too subtle to use as a contour shade and is definitely too subtle for my own personal tastes. Despite its satiny finish, it does look natural on the skin as a contour product, especially if you generally tend to go for a "natural" matte (as in, not entirely powdery and flat) or dewy look. It's super silky and easy to blend, I just wish I got it in a darker tone, I also wish that they came a bit more cool-toned so that fair folk could use them for a more contoured look.

Please let me know if you have any questions or comments.

May 2024 Arrivals

Ok folksickles! I'm back to replenishing on things that I'm running out of and buying mostly just necessities.

1. Bath & Body Works Fine Fragrance Mist in Gingham Gorgeous: I smelled this last year in the bar soap form, which it seems that they no longer make, and the bar soap smelled delicious. That said, in my opinion, the fragrance in spray form smells like a Bath & Body Works store.

2. Bath & Body Works Fine Fragrance Mist in Rose: I have friends that have this in their bathroom and nearly every time I visit them, I end up using it, so I decided to pick up a bottle of my own.

3. wet n wild photo focus Dewy Foundation in Rose Ivory: So for whatever reason I thought I was out of foundation but it turns out I actually had a full bottle of Shell Ivory left. That said, I picked up the Rose Ivory shade because Shell Ivory is a bit dark for me currently, so not all is lost.

4. Physicians Formula Butter Bronzer in Light Bronzer.: I purchased this since I'm running low on my current bronzer. That said, I feel like this is a bit light for me.

Please let me know if you have any comments or questions.

Disclaimer: I purchased everything listed above.

November 2023 Empties

All my monthly trash on display for you to see. :P

1. UNICAT Loose Setting & Matte Finish Mineral Powder: If I'm being honest I purchased this powder because the packaging is just absolutely adorable. That said, it's a bit too matte for my liking - it didn't emphasize texture or anything like that but it gave me a finish that was more matte that I would have liked. I think this would work nicely for someone with somewhat oilier skin than me.

2. Disney Jasmine Storylook Palette golden sands bronzer: I have to admit that I am shocked that I used up an entire bronzer but here we are. This gave my skin a nice bronzy glow without being too intense or over the top.

3. CALA SPOOKY LASHES in Electra x2: These lashes are beautiful - I personally really love the wispy yet spiky effect that they have. That being said, I find that they like to pop off at the inner and outer corners of the eyes so they're a bit fiddly to apply.

4. Clinique Moisture Surge 72 Hour Auto-Replenishing Hydrator: I really liked how hydrating yet lightweight this moisturizer is. It really makes my skin feel plump and juicy.

5. lune + aster Yes We Can Lip Balm: I am so sad that this balm has now come to an end because I loved it so much. This gave my lips a nice bit of moisture while also having a very soft, rosy color to it that I think worked well with nearly any eye look I did.

6. Bath & Body Works Golden Sunflower Body Cream: This is a really nice, hydrating body cream that smells nice too. Unfortunately these have gotten too pricey for me to purchase without the semi-annual sale ,however, as I don't feel like they're worth $17/tube.

7. Soapology Dead Sea Salt Scrub in RoseThis scrub smells absolutely delicious and decadent, a truly wonderful floral experience. It's also really abrasive and scrubby just how I prefer my scrubs to be. That being said, I personally found that this is somewhat greasy and tends to leave a residue behind on everything it touches whether that's surfaces or skin which is then, in my experience, difficult to remove. Additionally, as someone who shaves, I prefer sugar scrubs mainly because when salt gets into wounds it stings in quite a prominent way and that's no fun.

8. Bath & Body Works Berry Waffle Cone Scented Candle: I'm so sad that this candle has come to and end because it smells delicious and cozy. I enjoyed burning it every night.

9. Virtue Full Conditioner: I'm genuinely sad to have used this up as the Virtue Full line is my favorite out of all the hair lines I've tried. This smells so good and leaves my hair very silky and shiny.

10. wet n wild photofocus Eyeshadow Primer: Unfortunately, this primer dried up before I was able to use it up completely. Other than that though I think it's a fantastic primer - it helps my shadow go on smooth and wear without creasing for 8+ hours.

11. Juvia's Place I Am Magic Concealer in J21: I absolutely love this concealer - it has good coverage, you get a lot of product so it lasts a long time, and has a glowy, skin-like finish. My only issue is that this shade is a bit too light for me as it's difficult to perfectly color match online.

12. Shop Miss A AOA Studio Dermaplaning Face Razor: I honestly realize that even though I use them for dermaplaning, I prefer using smaller brow razors because they give me better precision. This feels too large and sort of clunky.

13. Laura Mercier Powder Puff: This is the mini size that came with the mini setting powder. I find that this works really nicely to powder my face but I've had this puff for a long time now and it's gotten quite stiff and not soft the way it once was so I believe it's time that we part ways.

Disclaimer: I purchased all of the above with the exception of the Disney, lune+aster, Soapology, and Clinique products which were gifts and/or provided for review

November 2022 Empties

All my monthly trash on display for you to see. :P

1. Ariose Monde Ocean Bliss Bath Fizzers: I used these in my foot baths and they're a nice bath bomb that left my skin feeling soft. That being said, I found the scent to be quite intense.

2. Youth to the People Kale + Spinach Green Tea Hyaluronic Acid Superfood Air-Whip Moisture Cream: This moisturizer felt really fantastic on my skin. It hydrates really deeply despite being lightweight. Unfortunately, as with many moisturizers, it's not enough for the spots where I have eczema but if my eczema were to clear up I would definitely consider repurchasing this.

3. Trader Joe's Oatmeal & Honey Soap: As I mentioned in the past, I love this soap so much because it nourishes my skin and whenever I have eczema flareups on my hands I find this soap to be very soothing. I like to always have it on hand because it's fairly inexpensive and works well.

4. Dr Teal's Shea Sugar Scrub in Rose: This scrub smells absolutely delicious and does a great job of smoothing my skin and preparing it for shaving.

5.Minoxidil Topical Aerosol 5% for Women: So just a heads up that Minoxidil is the active ingredient in Rogaine and is meant to help with hair growth. I had some sparse patches toward the front of my hairline and feel like this has made a really big difference in terms of me actually getting hair growth in those areas that were essentially balding.

6. Tarte Amazonian Clay Bronzer in Park Ave Princess (matte): This was a really great shade of bronzer that added a bit of warmth to my face but was a shade that still gave my face depth and dimension the way a contouring product would. I can't believe my pale behind finished a whole bronzer in the course of a year yet here we are.

7. The Ordinary Caffeine Solution 5% + EGCG: While I do find that this helps me with puffiness, it doesn't help brighten my under-eye area the way I wish it would. I don't know that I'd pick this up again.

8. Trader Joe's Watermelon Facial Mist: I love how this adds a bit of hydration to my skin and makes my skin feel refreshed. It actually smells like watermelon which is a nice touch.

9. Freeman Detoxifying charcoal + black sugar Mud Mask: I like that this is a mud mask that doesn't feel super tight as it dries. I can't say it works amazing for clearing away my sebaceous filament but it makes my skin feel deep-cleansed yet soft and smooth when I use it.

10. RAW SUGAR moisture loving body wash in Watermelon + Fresh Mint While I like the scent of this body wash and that it's moisturizing, I find that it leaves behind a residue - it's not super thick or anything but I wasn't a fan of this.

11. Sol Janeiro Brazilian Joia Strengthening & Smoothing Conditioner: This conditioner has the signature Sol Janeiro scent which I adore. I like that the scent lingers in my hair throughout the day after I use this on it. It leaves my hair feeling very hydrated, conditioned, and silky.

12. Dr Teal's Shea Sugar Scrub in Rose: This scrub smells absolutely delicious - I think citrus is my favorite scent out of those that I've tried. This also does a great job of smoothing my skin and preparing it for shaving.

13. MAC Lip Pencil in Cherry: This is a beautiful true, classic red lip-liner that took me nearly a whole year to use up with near daily use. I wore this as a lipstick too - meaning I used it over my entire mouth, not just to line with - and it lasted me that long. I really enjoyed using this but honestly it was a bit on the dry side which helped with wear but felt a bit uncomfortable. Given that I have loads of red lipsticks at the moment that I don't use a lip liner with, I don't think I'll be repurchasing this.

14. Osea Atmosphere Protection Cream: This moisturizer feels really fantastic. It's not heavy but it gives my skin a  really nice degree of hydration. Unfortunately I find it's not quite enough for my eczema patch but it felt great over the rest of my face.

15. AOA studio Perfect Setting Powder in Soft Light: Honestly I feel like this setting powder is just ok because it sets my face nicely but looks cake-y and creases underneath the eye area which I am not a fan of.

16. wet n wild photo focus Dewy Foundation: I am so sad to part ways with this foundation. It gives me such beautiful coverage, wears all day, and has a very pretty finish wherein my skin has a healthy glow to it. I really loved using this and highly recommend checking it out.

17. Dove gentle exfoliating sea minerals body wash: As I've mentioned many times, I really love to use these body washes to shave with because they're very hydrating and more economical for me to have on hand versus shaving foams. This has a nice, refreshing, clean scent to it. This is sold in a bundle with the peony and coconut scented ones and honestly is my least favorite just because the beads get in the way of my razor but I feel like other than that I like it just fine.

18. Bath & Body Works Pumpkin Everything Anti-Bacterial Foaming Mousse Hand Sanitizer: If I'm being honest I wasn't the biggest fan of this stuff. It leaves a residue on the skin because it attempts to be hydrating and also left a stain on my carpet where the hand sanitizer dried up on the carpet and turned solid. Alas. In addition to that it just smells too sweet for my liking and the dispenser broke before I was able to actually finish the product within. It feels like there's plenty of it left in there but I can't get it to dispense.

19. AOA studio 3D Faux Mink Premium Natural Lashes in Brianna: I really liked these lashes. They're a long lash with V-shaped clusters and I find that it really opens up my eyes and makes my eyes look large.

20. L'Oreal Paris Excellence Creme Conditioning Treatment: This works really well as a stand-in for conditioner and makes my hair feel soft and silky.

21. AOA Studio Mochi Teardrop Blender: I find that this does a nice job of blending my makeup and works as well as most other sponges I've tried. That being said, I find these difficult to thoroughly wash as they seem to really want to hang onto foundation/potentially absorb a lot of foundation as they're being used.

22. berkley jensen baby wipes in Refreshing Green Tea & Cucumber: These wipes smell so good! I don't have the packaging in my empties photos because I spent a lot of wipes cleaning grease off the walls in the kitchen and ended up just dumping the packaging together with the used up wipes.

23. The Ordinary 100% Plant-Derived Squalane: Frankly I don't even know what bottle of this I'm on because I love this stuff and keep repurchasing it. Unsurprisingly, I am sad to be out. I definitely feel a difference in my skin when I don't use squalane in terms of my skin being flakier than usual. I've ordered a new one to try but will be using a different oil in the meantime.

24. Shiseido Prepare Eyebrow Razor L Shaped: To be honest I use these mostly on my upper lip and to quickly trim any hair that wants to hang around my face and be unsightly. They do a great job but the blade on this has become dull over time.

Please let me know if you have any questions or comments.

Disclaimer: I purchased all of the above with the exception of the Ariose Monde, OSEA, Bath & Body Works, and Freeman  products.

Bronzer Review: Pixi Summertime Beauty Bronzer

I introduce to you the Pixi Beauty Bronzer in Summertime.

Availability: This retails at $18 for 4.5g (.16 oz) and is available at pixibeauty.com - it comes with a kabuki brush.
Would I buy this again?: Yes.
Notes: Color-wise this is described as a medium skin-tone. To me it's a soft, warm-toned sand shade with a very subtle hint of white-gold pearl. This glides on beautifully and provides me with a nice warm, yet realistic looking bronze contour (which is what I used it for). Despite its shimmer, it tends to look like contour in person. I'm sure it wouldn't photograph all that well for contouring purposes, but alas I only use it on myself so I don't mind. It's super silky and easy to blend. Really dig that about it.

Please let me know if you have any questions or comments.

Disclaimer: I bought this myself.

Hourglass Ambient Lighting Edit - Ghost Palette Review

BEHOLD the Hourglass Ambient  Lighting Edit - Ghost Palette

AvailabilityThis has been discontinued.
Would I buy this? Probably not given that the shades here aren't unique enough to pay the price of this palette for.
NotesAlright so despite what I wrote about my motivations to purchase this palette if it were to ever relaunch I do have to say that the quality of the shades here is great - they're pigmented, have a soft metallic glow, and stay put all day.
Finishing Powder, Dim Light - This is a soft beige-y, fleshy pink that gives the skin a beautiful glow without being shimmery, so it's great for all over the face or as a subtle highlighter.
Finishing Powder, Diffused Light - This is a very softly shimmery off-white which makes it a good brightening face powder for fair skin-tones. Much like the above shade, this gives the skin a soft, subtle glow.
Strobe Powder, Iridescent Strobe Light - Is a soft pinkish highlight shade. I'm unsure why there are those odd holes in the powder.
Bronzer, Eternal Bronze Light - This is a soft, warm, golden bronzer. It doesn't swatch very well but it does go onto my fair af skin fairly pigmented.
Strobe Blush, Iridescent Rose - This is a red rose with a soft golden veining that ultimately creates a soft pinkish rose with golden shimmer through it.
Blush, Sublime Flush - This is a yellow pink with lilac veining which creates a yellowish pink blush with a subtle violet pearl.

Please let me know if you have any comments or questions.
