Exfoliator Review: Queen Helene Oatmeal 'n Honey Scrub

Queen Helene Oatmeal 'n Honey Scrub

Availability: This retails anywhere from $5 - $13 for a 6 oz (170g) tube and is available at drugstores and beauty supply stores that carry Queen Helene, you can also purchase this at amazon.com.

Would I buy this again? Probably not.

What is this product? What is it supposed to do?
Unfortunately I am unable to find an official website for this product so, according to the tube itself: This wholesome facial scrub helps smooth away impurities and removes dead, dry skin cells. Infused with soothing Oatmeal and Honey, it helps nourish skin and prevent future moisture loss. After use, skin is refreshed and smooth with a healthy complexion.

Does this contain any special/beneficial ingredients?
Walnut Shell Powder: Gently removes oil and dead skin cells from the surface of the skin.
Stearic Acid: Has skin smoothing and softening properties.
Glycerin: Helps attract moisture to the skin's surface.
Kaolin and Oat Kernel Meal: Have oil absorbing, exfoliating, and anti-inflammatory properties.
Honey: Has hydrating, anti-inflammatory, and antibacterial properties.

What is the texture like?
This has a creamy texture to it that is full of the walnut shell powder.

Is this scented?
This has a sweet, nutty, cloying scent to it.

What has my experience with the product been like?
Honestly, I really like the texture of this scrub wherein I find it abrasive enough to give me a good exfoliation and leave my skin soft but mild enough where it feels gentle and doesn't hurt or irritate my skin. Overall my issue with it is the scent, it smells really intense and almost artificial. The scent really tends to linger on my skin as well. I will most likely use this up because I can tolerate it but I won't be purchasing this again.

Please let me know if you have any comments or questions.

DisclaimerI bought this myself.

April 2024 Arrivals

Ok folksickles! I'm back to replenishing on things that I'm running out of and buying mostly just necessities.

1. Physicians Formula Eye Booster Waterproof Ultra-Fine Liquid Eyeliner: This was beginning to dry out so it was time to replenish.

2. Maybelline Great Lash Mascara in Very Black: The mascara I was using before this got really thick and clumpy so it was time to replace it.

3. Duo Quick-Set Striplash Adhesive in White/Clear: My lash glue had also gotten all thick and goopy so I replaced it with this one.

4. Grandma Agatha's (Agafia's) Recipe Hair Mask with Brewer's Yeast for Hair Growth: I've liked the other hair masks I've tried by this brand so I decided to get the yeast one to try out, apparently this also has wheat germ oil in it to help hydrate the hair.

5. LAZY JUNGLE Rice Foam Cleanser: Given my affinity for Korean cleansers and rice-based products really feeling hydrating and silky on my skin before, I decided to pick this one up since I'm running low on cleanser.

6. Dr. Bronner's 18-in-1 Hemp Citrus Pure Castile Soap: As you may know, I love to use this soap to wash my brushes with and since I ran out of my solid bar I decided to go ahead and pick this up at my local Marshall's.

7. Biore UV Aqua Rich Water Essence SPF 50+ PA++++: I am once again running low on my tube of this, so I decided to just replenish because I absolutely love this sunscreen.

8. EVELINE COSMETICS Eye Contour Serum with Goat Milk and Collagen: I'm running low on my current eye cream and, with this being fairly inexpensive, I decided to give it a try.

9. Queen Helene Oatmeal 'n Honey Scrub: I am running low on my face scrub as well and I have a friend that recommended the apricot version from this brand. Since my pharmacy didn't have the apricot in stock and my skin is dry, I think the oatmeal and honey might be a good option. We shall see.

Please let me know if you have any comments or questions.

Disclaimer: I purchased everything listed above.
