Love It Or Leave It; Review 2.0: Inglot Pearl 449 and DS 617 Shadow and , Sigma beauty Paris Palette, Disney Ariel Palette, tokidoki blue

Hello folksickles. As a makeup junkie and blogger you may have realized that I review a LOAD of eyeshadow palettes and I like to think of myself as being largely an eyeshadow junkie. In order to de-clutter a bit  I've decided to pick out a palette or series of eyeshadows for the month and have that be my monthly selection for those instances where I'm not doing a tutorial for the blog. Every month I'll do a recap on the eyeshadows - how I feel about them and whether I'll be keeping them or giving them away (and why :P) as well as if I think it's worth its price tag. 

This palette contains: Inglot Pearl 449 and DS 617 Shadow, as well as random shades from the Sigma beauty Paris Palette, Disney Ariel Collection Storybook Palette, and a random blue from tokidoki

These are the looks I created this month:

I have to say that, in comparison to the palettes I've used lately, I somewhat enjoy using these eyeshadow colors. That said, the following will be passed along: the matte brown - I just have lots of matte browns and being that this one leans on the cooler side I just know I won't really reach for it, the green, Inglot D.S. 617, and the tokidoki blue - unfortunately, while extremely beautiful, both of these suffer with blendability and patchiness in their application. I just don't have the patience to work around them when I have blues in my collection that don't give me those issues.

Notes:     Before tokidoki launched its (their?) own makeup collection at Sephora in 2010, they joined forces with Smashbox back in Spring of '07 and released an adorable collection of wonderful makeup goodies. Normally, I don't keep product packaging around as it's bulky/takes up storage space and is just plain worthless - imagine the money and resources that could be saved by NOT stuffing a product into an extra box. But the packaging for this - I mean look at the box, such amazing artwork and plain cuteness cannot go to waste! Plus I love that the heart and crossbones logo of tokidoki is embossed into the blush itself. If you choose to buy this as a set, it comes with a wonderful goat-hair fan brush - it's very dense, soft, and of good quality. The only reason mine is missing a chunk is because I was VERY rough when washing it - I tend to be impatient when soap doesn't come out :(, but the rest of it is good and going strong.

      I would describe the color as plum-kissed bubble gum pink with gold micro-shimmer throughout. The coverage is fairly sheer and needs to be built up if you want any color to show up. When applied lightly it gives off this radiance that's just lovely. The way it looks on skin - it's like you don't even need a highlight, it just makes my cheeks glow with life - and the best part is it doesn't look like blush, it looks very natural. I feel like this would be a gorgeous highlight for a darker skin-tone. Plus the texture is fantastic - it feels so velvety and nice. I think the retail price for this was $60 but I got mine for $15 on Ebay, I definitely - 100% recommend anyone reading this to check it out! It's worth every penny!

Cheek Product Review: MAC Get-Away Bronze Powder Blush and Deckchair Pigment

Would I buy this again?: Not sure
Notes: Honestly, had it not been for Christine's swatch on Temptalia (see it: here) I would've passed on this - look at how her cheeks just glow - so pretty! This is a mahogany-kissed tan , or a reddened bronze,  whichever sounds better to you; and has a matching sheen throughout - this is MAC's frost finish (which to me just means it has a noticeable shimmer throughout) . This looks like a bronzer but  pulls somewhat redder which can lead to a somewhat burned appearance if you choose to use it all-over. I think it's a unique color for the apples of the cheeks specifically because you don't often see people using bronzy shades there, but this looks pretty and summery. I also like this particular shade if I'm concerned with my blush clashing with the rest of my makeup because it goes with everything. I like that it warms up my skin - it's a good shade for when pinks or peaches don't quite work for a look. :) The formula is silky and blends easily; however, I find that MAC's blushes are very pigmented, so start with a small amount of product and build up from there - otherwise it's hard to take away and can become streaky. Not cute! I miss the packaging from To The Beach - it was one of MAC's cutest collections. :(

I used lune+aster Dawn to Dusk Gel Eyeliner in Black  for the black base and Sephora Collection Let It Snow Colorful Shadow & Liner for the white, the far right is this swatched wet

Would I buy this again?: If it were available, sure. That said I've had this jar since high school, used it very many times, and am nearly positive will last me til the day I die.
Notes: This is a frosty, peachy nude. I have no idea why it looks so incredibly pink in the jar - it's not my camera this time, it really looks like that in person - because even if I use it wet, it just has a more metallic finish but is still peachy-nude.  I love this particular color because it's incredibly versatile - you can use it very lightly to highlight, use it as an eyeshadow, use it as body shimmer/glitter, mix it in with moisturizer to create a strobe-cream like product, mix it in with foundation to make it glow (be sparing unless you want a glitter-explosion on your face), mix with lip gloss/balm to have a metallic nude lip effect, mix it with nail polish - whether clear or tinted. Use it wet, use it dry - the possibilities are endless. That said, it's a discontinued color. In my research on the product I find people always upset that this is no longer available and wanting a dupe.
