June 2025 Departures

Ok folksickles. Departure blogs will contain items that aren't empties but that are going to be given away for one reason or another. I'm working hard to curate my makeup collection and want it to include only the products that I think truly work well, that I reach for often and do what they're supposed to do.

1. Makeup Revolution London Jewel Collection Deluxe Palette: I have to say that I really enjoyed my time with this palette - I think the color selection and the quality in here is great. However, I just know that I have these same shades in other palettes that I'm more likely to reach for. Hence I'll be passing it along.

2. Arte Clavo Color Gel in 4070: While this is a fun, pretty yellowy orange that's great for the summertime, I will be passing it along because even with three coats of polish, it was too sheer for my liking. 

3. Gellen Soak Off Nail Gel in 120: This gel polish did have the opacity I was looking for, and in fact I only needed to use two coats to get it there. But that said, the shade is a bit too brown for my liking and reminds me too much of chocolate milk. It's just not my favorite and I'll be passing it along to my bestie who likes colors like this.

Love It Or Leave It; Review 2.0: Makeup Revolution London Jewel Collection Deluxe Palette

Hello folksickles. As a makeup junkie and blogger you may have realized that I review a LOAD of eyeshadow palettes and I like to think of myself as being largely an eyeshadow junkie. In order to declutter a bit I've decided to pick out a palette or series of eyeshadows for the month and have that be my monthly selection for those instances where I'm not doing a tutorial for the blog. Every month I'll do a recap on the eyeshadows - how I feel about them and whether I'll be keeping them or giving them away (and why :P) as well as if I think it's worth its price tag.

So as you can see I created all sorts of pinkish neutral looks, some soft, some more smoky, with these shadows. I personally have found that these shadows are easy to blend and the pigmentation on them is fantastic! All of them work really great in my experience! Honestly, when I took this out to play with it, I thought it was a palette I was going to keep. Now, there's nothing wrong with it and the quality is nice. However, I know for a fact I have palettes with similar shades and because I haven't been reaching for this before, I'm unlikely to reach for it now. For those reasons, I'll be passing it along.

Makeup Revolution London Pink Fizz Chocolate Bar Eyeshadow Palette

So as you can see I created all sorts of soft, mostly neutral looks with these shadows. I personally have found that these shadows are easy to blend and the pigmentation on them is fantastic! All of them work really great in my experience! I absolutely adore this palette because of its color selection - it enables me to create these ethereal, light looks that I feel really help open up and brighten my eyes. It was an absolute pleasure playing with this, I did not want to put it down! This palette is absolutely a keeper!

1. Makeup Revolution London Golden Bar Chocolate Bar Eyeshadow Palette: I have to say that I really enjoyed my time with this palette - I think the color selection and the quality in here is great. However, I just know that I have loads of warm-toned neutral palettes and I'm unlikely to make this a top priority to reach for. Hence I'll be passing it along.

May 2025 Favorites

Alright, all the goodies I've been enjoying in May :) 

1. Makeup Revolution London Pink Fizz Chocolate Bar Eyeshadow Palette: I'm a little shocked that this palette made it into favorites, and just in general with the palettes I've been playing with over the past few months, because those that made it into departures where ones I thought I really liked. Now this one, on the other hand, I was convinced I'd be giving away. But the me of today says "absolutely not!" to that notion. I absolutely adore this palette! I loved every single look I did with it and did not want to put this down or move on from it! The color selection in here allowed me to create the kind of light, airy makeup that I just love doing on myself. Now, frankly, I like that makeup in both neutral and in colorful tones, and this was certainly on the neutral end, but I had an absolute blast playing around with this!

So as you can see I created all sorts of soft, smoky, neutral looks with these shadows. I personally have found that these shadows are easy to blend, and the pigmentation on them is fantastic. They work together so well that every look is a no brainer; as in, you don't have to worry about colors clashing or not blending together well. All of them work really great in my experience! I have to say that I absolutely LOVE this palette and think it's great! But I will be passing it along. The reason for that is because I have these colors in palettes that I know for a fact that I'm more likely to reach for so I'd rather pass it to a friend who'd give it the love it deserves and who'd benefit from having it in their collection.
