Love It Or Leave It; Review 2.0: ColourPop clay it cool Pressed Powder Palette

Hello folksickles. As a makeup junkie and blogger you may have realized that I review a LOAD of eyeshadow palettes and I like to think of myself as being largely an eyeshadow junkie. In order to declutter a bit  I've decided to pick out a palette or series of eyeshadows for the month and have that be my monthly selection for those instances where I'm not doing a tutorial for the blog. Every month I'll do a recap on the eyeshadows - how I feel about them and whether I'll be keeping them or giving them away (and why :P) as well as if I think it's worth its price tag.

You can find a look I did with the palette here. These are the looks I created this month:
So as you can see I created some versatile peachy, orangey, pinkish looks - everything from smokey to soft and wearable. I just adore this palette because it is so wearable and flattering - I think this would look really nice on a multitude of skin-tones, and while the color story is perfect for anyone with blue or green eyes in particular, I think it looks nice with any eye color. Additionally, I love that this has shades that can work as blush and as highlighters as well, making this palette very convenient for travel because it's also got sleek packaging. The colors themselves are beautifully pigmented and blend easily; they play really well with one another.

Please let me know if you have any questions or comments.

Cleanser Review: Kose softymo Washing Foam Hyaluronic Acid

'Ello folksickles. Today's review will be for the Kose softymo Washing Foam Hyaluronic Acid.

AvailabilityThis retails anywhere from $6.50 - $20 for 150g and can be purchased at amazon.com, stylevana.com, yesstyle.com, tesolife.com, yamibuy.com, and japanwithlovestore.com.

Would I buy this again?: Probably not.

What is this product designed to address?

According to yesstyle.com:
New soy milk ferment solution lathers into non-drying creamy foam that gently cleanses pores of sebum and dirt, leaving bare skin feeling soft and supple.

Does it contain any special/beneficial ingredients?
Glycerin: Attracts moisture to the skin.
Stearic Acid: Helps shield the skin's barrier from moisture loss.
Lactobacillus/Soybean Extract Ferment Filtrate: Helps strengthen skin's barrier.
Hyaluronic Acid: Helps with skin elasticity and helps skin retain moisture.
Silk Powder: Has hydrating and soothing properties.

What is the texture like?
This has my beloved cushiony hydrating cleanser texture that creates a thick, fluffy, hydrating foam in contact with water. It's not as thick as I personally love but it's a nice basic cleanser.
Just a note, kose softymo has a line of "cleansing" foams in the same line - those have a gel texture to them versus being a cream like the "washing" foams.

Is it scented?
This doesn't have a discernible scent.

My overall experience/comments on the product:
I said in my review of the Kose softymo Washing Foam Collagen that these cleansers remind me a bit of the SENKA Perfect Whip Collagen in Perfect Face Cleansing Foam. I personally prefer the SENKA Perfect Whip Collagen in Perfect Face Cleansing Foam because I find it slightly more hydrating. In comparison to the Kose softymo Washing Foam Collagen, I would say that this is slightly more hydrating but there isn't a significant difference between the two. I would say that they are a texture that I like and, for some reason, on the US market, cleansers with this type of texture tend to have a much loftier price tag hence me purchasing Korean and Japanese ones that I can typically snag for under $10 - $15. That being said, I prefer something that produces a bit more of a thicker, more hydrating foam. There is a ceramide washing foam in the line that I would like to try after I finish this one, because I think it might be more hydrating overall, but I think I'll be trying other cleansers from that point onwards.

Candle Review: Yankee Candle Home Inspiration Sweet Violet & Basil

Hi folks, so I have another home fragrance post for you.

Candle: Yankee Candle Home Inspiration Sweet Violet & Basil
Availability:  This is available at bjs.com along with their physical store locations; it is priced there at $14.99. The candle contains 19 oz. (538g) of wax.
Would I buy this?: Absolutely!
Notes: Unfortunately I cannot find a description of the scent notes on any website.
I would describe the scent as a "spicy" floral. Now, I don't mean "spicy" in a peppery or burning kind of way, but in the kind of fresh kick that basil has wherein it's not quite just "green" but has a little extra something to it. That being said, the scent is largely floral with a hint of that "spicy" note to it, so I cannot say it smells distinctly of basil. It has a nice sweetness to it too so honestly it's giving me flower garden vibes and I really love that.
I personally find that it smells the same both cold or hot, although the scent is slightly intensified when the candle is burning.
I find that this candle has a good throw, it scents up my entire room.

Please let me know if you have any questions or comments.

Candle Review: Yankee Candle Home Inspiration Seashore Breeze

Hi folks, so I have another home fragrance post for you.

Candle: Yankee Candle Home Inspiration Seashore Breeze
Availability: This is available at bjs.com and meijer.com along with their physical store locations as well as at beallsflorida.com with the price varying from $15-$18. The candle contains 19 oz. (538g) of wax.
Would I buy this?: Absolutely!
Notes: Unfortunately, I cannot find a description of the scent notes on any website.
I will say that this candle reminds me of Yankee's Willow Breeze scent that is now once again available. This has that fresh, sea without brine scent that I really enjoy in candles. Someone described this as a "linen" scent in their review and I can get how this gives that fresh laundry feel as well. Overall, the scent definitely gives off a feeling of a sunshiny day with a nice fresh breeze rolling in from a clean body of water.

Sunscreen Review: Biore UV Aqua Rich Water Essence SPF 50+ PA++++

Hello folksickles. Today's review will be for the Biore UV Aqua Rich Water Essence SPF 50+ PA++++.

Availability: This retails anywhere between $8.25 - $17.50 for a 70g tube and is available at stylevana.com, japanasetaste.com, amazon.com, japanesewithlove.com, and yesstyle.com.

Would I buy this again?: Absolutely!

What is this product designed to address?
According to yesstyle.com:
This hydrating sunscreen infused with hyaluronic acid and royal jelly extract comes with SPF 50+ PA++++ UV protection. The waterproof formula absorbs quickly into skin and leaves zero white cast. This product is suitable for both the face and body. Sensitive skin-friendly formula is made free of artificial colorants.

Does it contain any special/beneficial ingredients?
Royal Jelly Extract: Has hydrating properties and helps skin retain moisture.
Hyaluronic Acid: Assists skin in retaining moisture, holds up to 1000x its own weight in moisture.

What is the texture like?
This starts off as a very creamy gel-cream that blends out into more of a gel texture. It feels refreshing when applied.

Is it scented?
This has a soft, subtle floral scent.

My overall experience/comments on the product:
I've been hearing a lot of hype about this particular SPF and let me tell you, it is absolutely worth it! This feels unlike any SPF I've tried and I say this because it's incredibly lightweight and melts into the skin. There isn't any white cast - it is a chemical sunscreen after all - but there's also none of that heavy, sticky, sunscreen feeling that typical sunscreens leave behind. While this is lightweight, I find it to be fairly hydrating where I would recommend it to all skin types. If someone is particularly dry, I would suggest layering this on top of a moisturizer. Because it's lightweight, I think it would play nicely when layered on top of other products. It also leaves the skin feeling very soft and smooth, so if you're a makeup wearer, I think this could function well as a primer on its own without the need for additional product.

Love It Or Leave It; Review 2.0: ColourPop At Forest Sight Pressed Powder Palette

Hello folksickles. As a makeup junkie and blogger you may have realized that I review a LOAD of eyeshadow palettes and I like to think of myself as being largely an eyeshadow junkie. Every month I'll do a recap on the eyeshadows - how I feel about them and whether I'll be keeping them or giving them away (and why :P) as well as if I think it's worth its price tag.

You can find a look I did with the palette here. These are the looks I created this month:
So as you can see I created some colorful smoky looks. For my own personal tastes, I don't love the palette because I feel like the colors are beautiful individually but create looks that are overall too dark for my personal taste when used together. In particular, I feel like the bottom row, while beautiful, just makes any look done using those colors very intense and dark. I think the kinds of looks I created would look beautiful on someone with a deeper skin-tone versus on someone as pale as I am. I really love the quality of this palette - the color payoff is excellent, the shadows are beautiful, and they blend well. I will hold onto this palette because, in my opinion, I have similar colors in my collection but they're not as nice of a quality as the ones in this palette are. That said, I don't think I'll use this palette as a standalone going forward.

Please let me know if you have any questions or comments.
