May 2020 Empties

All my monthly trash on display for you to see. :P

Sheet Masks Galore:
A'Pieu My Skin-fit  Sheet Mask in Quinoa: Alright so this mask is a bit larger than your typical sheet mask which I appreciate. It is FULL of serum, very juicy-feeling, there was plenty of extra serum left in the packet that I used on my neck/décolletage and even my elbows. It left my skin feeling very smooth, silky, hydrated, and plump.
A'Pieu Coffee Milk Air Pocket Sheet Mask x5: A repeat favorite - this mask smells like a yummy milky coffee and leaves my skin super hydrated and silky smooth.
A'Pieu Strawberry Milk Air Pocket Sheet Mask: This mask legitimately smells so much like actual strawberry milk that I didn't want to take it off my face. It left my skin super hydrated and silky-feeling.
A'Pieu Banana Milk Air Pocket Sheet Mask: This mask legitimately smells so much like a banana milkshake that I didn't want to take it off my face. It left my skin super hydrated and silky-feeling.
Innisfree My Real Squeeze Mask in Pomegranate: Although this mask has a clear, rather than a milky, serum inside, I find that it left my skin feeling hydrated, smooth, and silky after use. I wish it smelled more like honey though.
Innisfree My Real Squeeze Mask in Manuka Honey: Although this mask has a clear, rather than a milky, serum inside, I find that it left my skin feeling hydrated, smooth, and silky after use.
Innisfree My Real Squeeze Mask in Green Tea: This is another clear serum based mask that, despite it not being obviously moisturizing, leaves my skin feeling soft, supple, silky, and hydrated.
Innisfree My Real Squeeze Mask in Acai x4: As you folks know this is one of my absolute favorite sheet masks and one I always like having on hand. It's got a hydrating milky serum that isn't super heavy yet it makes my skin feel super hydrated and silky. It smells nice too.

2. red cherry eyelashes in Zoey: This is a really pretty slightly spiked wispy lash. I liked them a lot.

3Tree Hut Shea Sugar Scrub in Italian Mocha:  You folks know I love these and have been using them for years - my #1 body scrub because it's super scrubby but isn't oily so you won't be slipping and sliding all over your shower or tub. I love this one because it wakes me up and smells absolutely delicious!

4. Eau Thermale Avene Soothing moisture mask: I find this mask is a bit too heavy for my skin. Most of the time I ended up washing it off entirely instead of tissuing it off and even so it left a residue on my skin.

5. NEST Holiday Scented Candle: I finished this candle months ago but I guess I never put it in empties because I meant to write a review on it which, ironically, will not launch until November of this year. Regardless, this is a beautifully, aptly named candle. It smells like pine, spices, and holiday baked goods. An absolutely wonderfully scented candle.

6Chantecaille Rice an Geranium Foaming Cleanser: This is such a lovely, creamy, hydrating cleanser and the smallest bit of it created a wonderful lather. I'm so sad to be out of it.

7. Klorane Floral water makeup remover with soothing cornflower (Micellar Water with Organically Farmed Cornflower): This is a nice micellar water that's essentially just flower water yet it does a really marvelous job of getting even long-wear makeup off.

8.  Dove renewing peony & rose oil Nourishing Body Wash: I really like to use these body washes for shaving because they hydrate the skin and give my razor a nice glide but because I am lowkey a hairy beast they last a month, unlike shaving gel, which lasts a week so I'm happy to use them and have them. Y'all know I LOVE rose scents and this doesn't disappoint - it smells SO GOOD!

9. Bath & Body Works White Tea & Ginger 24-hour moisture Ultra Shea Body Cream: This smells wonderful and leaves all but the soles of my feet feeling super silky and hydrated.

10. Laura Mercier Radiance Foundation Primer: This does a wonderful job of giving my skin light hydration and radiance while helping my foundation stay put all day long.

11. Urban Decay Anti-Aging Primer Potion: I had a tube of this provided for testing a while back and the tube burst so I transferred it to an eye cream container I had that was empty. This works alright, I find that it slightly enhances the eyeshadow that I wear in terms of making color saturation better but it's not the best at keeping my eyeshadow completely crease-free throughout the day. This one is completely clear so it will not alter the color of your eyeshadow.

12. Caudalie Vinopure Skin Perfecting Serum: This is a nice lightweight serum that made my skin feel refreshed and smooth.

13. CVS Cortisone Gel with Aloe: I mainly use this to treat my ear area because during this time of year I get eczema patches behind my ears and they get itchy, flaky and hurt, this helps to solve the problem.

14. L'Oreal Paris Colour Vibrancy Nourishing Shampoo: So in terms of color conservation and hydration - this worked alright. It was a good basic shampoo to get my hair looking and feeling clean but I don't feel shook by it in any way.

15. Colourpop Faux-M-G! Falsies in Bae:  These are a really nice pair of piece-y, wispy-yet-chunky lashes. They're really fun and pretty.

16. Colourpop no filter stix in Fair 30 C: This is a full-coverage, mostly matte foundation stick. I liked it ok, but personally I prefer a more dewy finish to my makeup.

17. LAFCO Chamomile Lavender Candle: This candle has a really pretty, calming, floral, citrusy scent.

18. Rosette Hello Kitty Uji-Matcha Kintoki: This was a fairly nice creamy cleanser that foamed up and had a pleasant green tea scent. It wasn't quite as grassy as true matcha but I enjoyed it while I had it.

19. GLAM GLOW BRIGHTEYES Illuminating Anti-Fatigue Eye Cream: I really enjoyed using this eye cream, it brightened up my under-eyes and provided nice hydration without being heavy. My concealer went over this beautifully.

20.Supergoop! Glow Screen: This is a nice, lightly hydrating but not heavy sunscreen that gives the skin a pretty glow.

21. Tree Hut Shea Sugar Scrub in  Hawaiian Kukui:  You folks know I love these and have been using them for years - my #1 body scrub because it's super scrubby but isn't oily so you won't be slipping and sliding all over your shower or tub. This has a nice, sweet, slightly toasty, slightly tropical scent.

22. Eau Thermale Avene Revitalizing nourishing cream: This is a very hydrating moisturizer. I liked its texture because while this is rich, it absorbs into the skin nicely.

23. que bella refreshing pomegranate peel-off mask: This mask made my skin feel really soft and silky. It has a yummy scent too!

24. dermalogica special cleansing gel: This is a great gel cleanser - it has the deep cleaning properties of a gel but it doesn't dry my skin out, leaving my skin feeling super clean but not stripped. This also foams up beautifully.

25. Drunk Elephant Beste No. 9 Jelly Cleanser: Similarly to the cleanser I described above, this has the deep cleansing qualities that a typical gel cleanser does but it's also not drying and leaves my skin feeling clean but comfortable. This is neither here nor there but I completely forgot that I'd never written a full review of the product and since I completely cut up the tube to get to the last of the product I can't really take photos of it in order to write a full review. Frankly though, I wouldn't go out and buy this as, if I'm going to invest my own money in a cleanser, I prefer milky ones that foam up.

26. Julie G Nail Color in Mermaid's Tale: This is a beautiful teal, mermaid shade of polish that I absolutely adore. Unfortunately mine is down to the last of the bottle and has gotten thick and goopy.
Ugh and it looks like these have been discontinued. I'm so sad!

27. rare Essence Aromatherapy Lavender Spike Essential Oil: While this oil had the wonderful, relaxing lavender scent you'd expect from any lavender oil I found that the dropper was a pain in the behind and hardly any oil dispensed until I pierced through it with a pair of scissors.

28. Radiance Peppermint Essential Oil: I feel like this has the opposite problem of the oil I described above in that it dispenses way too much oil at once and is difficult to control.

29. Trader Joe's Rose Facial Oil: This is a very hydrating oil and unfortunately I feel like it's caused my to break out. It's kind of on the heavy side and it's disappointing in the sense that it doesn't contain any actual rose in it.

30.Eau Thermale Avene Rich Compensating Cream: This is a super hydrating moisturizer that made my skin feel soft and comfortable.

31. Oribe Cote d'Azur Replenishing Body Wash: This has a really wonderful sexy musky amber-ish floral scent and does a nice job of foaming up and leaving my skin feeling soft yet clean. It is rather pricey and I doubt I'd pay for it out of pocket but it was nice to try.

32. Smashbox Halo Fresh Perfecting Powder in Fair:  This powder was just alright. As I've said before, I wish it was just a big block of pressed powder, I don't understand the point of grinding it into a loose concoction. It's alright as a powder but it creases under the eyes. Overall I wouldn't go out and purchase it.

33. Colourpop Faux-M-G Falsies Faux Lashes in Chick: These lashes are absolutely beautiful! They're pretty, fluttery, and they make my eyes look gigantic. They're super flattering for my eye shape. The band is a pain in the behind to get glued on correctly but given how beautiful the lashes are I'm willing to put up a fight.

34. AOA Wonder Blender - Pink Teardrop: This is a great makeup blending sponge. It becomes super big and bouncy when it's wet and makes blending out your face makeup a quick and easy job.

35. Trader Joe's Oatmeal & Honey Soap: This soap is just incredible - it's super hydrating and will make your skin feel silky. I bought this in the wintertime when I was having a bad bout of hand eczema and this really helped the eczema to calm down and disappear entirely.

36. Love Beauty and Planet Argan Oil & Lavender,  Smooth & Serene Shampoo: I don't have a photo of this product because my mom threw the bottle away but this is a really nice, gentle, lavender-scented shampoo that makes my hair feel clean yet hydrated.

37. La Mer the revitalizing hydrating serum: I really enjoyed this serum because it's hydrating yet lightweight and makes my skin feel silky. I wish it wasn't outrageously expensive because if it was, say $30-40 I would definitely get it again. Alas.

38. BLOOMEFFECTS Royal Tulip Cleansing Jelly: This did a fairly decent job of taking my makeup off and leaving my skin feeling hydrated. I'll be honest that I am ALL ABOUT the Makeup Eraser and similar microfiber makeup remover cloths but this would be nice in drier or colder weather conditions.

39. Darphin Hydraskin Rich All-Day Skin Hydrating Cream: Although I really liked the texture of this and found that it's super hydrating despite not being super heavy, this is too hydrating for me right now. It made my skin super oily. I think I would like it better in the wintertime.

40. Bath & Body Works Watermelon Lemonade Ultra Shea Body Cream: This is a really yummy smelling and hydrating body cream. I haven't used these in a while and I really enjoyed how soft this made my legs feel after shaving.

Disclaimer: I purchased all of the above with the exception of the Eau Thermale Avene, NEST, Chantecaille, Klorane, Caudalie, LAFCO, GLAM GLOW, Supergoop!, dermalogica, Urban Decay, Drunk Elephant, que bella, Smashbox, Oribe, La Mer, Darphin, BLOOMEFFECTS, and Laura Mercier  products.

May 2019 Empties

All my garbage of the month! :D
Sheet Masks Galore:
papa recipe Bombee Honey Mask x3: I purchased a box of these because I used to absolutely adore them and I still do. These provide lovely lightweight moisture and leave my skin looking radiant while feeling smooth, soft, and nourished.
papa recipe Bombee Fruitables Orange Squeeze Energy Mask: My favorite of the Fruitables mask line because this leaves my skin feeling soft, smooth, hydrated, replenished and looking radiant. It also smells delicious.
papa recipe Bombee Black Honey Mask Pack: I really enjoyed this mask but find its effects quite similar to the regular honey mask. That said I feel like this adheres to the face a bit better though but unfortunately is slightly smaller in size.
patchology Soothe 5 Minute Flash Mask: This is a really nice, calming, hydrating mask.
patchology Hydrate 5 Minute Sheet Mask: This is a nice soothing, hydrating mask. I'd say this and the soothe are interchangeable although that one has slightly more anti-inflammatory effects and this has slightly more hydrating. This hydrates without a heavy essence, which is nice.
patchology Illuminate 5 Minute Sheet Mask: I really like that this mask has somewhat of an apricot -peach smell - it's unexpected yet very summery and pleasant. The mask gives my skin a nice radiance.
patchology Milk Peel 5 Minute Sheet Mask: Out of these masks this is the only one I kept on for the recommended 5 minutes - because the others don't have any actives in them I left them on for 20 minutes each. This mask left my skin looking radiant and feeling smoother - I liked that it gave the effect of an at-home peel, or similar to other at-home peels I've tried but it felt very gentle.
the Saem Pure Natural Mask Sheet Snail Brightening: I found this sheet mask refreshing yet not as hydrating as I personally like. I also didn't find that it brightened any more than their regular clay mask did.
the Saem Pure Natural Mask Sheet Snail: I found this sheet mask refreshing yet not as hydrating as I personally like.
Secret Key Nature Recipe Mask in Honey: I really like that this mask is honey scented but it isn't as hydrating as I personally prefer for my sheet masks to be.
Soap & Glory Miracle Moisture Mask: This mask felt refreshing and hydrating but because it's a gel it didn't stay put on my face that well and I wish the serum in it was milky rather than watery.
TONYMOLY I'm Coconut Mask Sheet: My very favorite of the TONYMOLY sheet mask line - this mask smells like delicious coconut milk and leaves my skin feeling hydrated and supple.
TONYMOLY I'm Rice Mask Sheet: I found this to be a lightly hydrating, smoothing face mask.

2. Pampers Sensitive Skin Baby WipesI like to use these to wipe down surfaces and my makeup because they're nontoxic and work well for that.

3. LUSH Ro's Argan Body Conditioner: Although the body conditioners are meant to be used in the shower or bath and then rinsed off I personally prefer using them as body lotion - which I've been told by employees is an ok thing to do. This has a delicious rose honey scent that I absolutely adore.

4. Odacite Blue Aura Cleansing Water: I used this as a toner and I really liked the way it made my skin feel cleansed yet soft. It's also got a refreshing clean, slightly citrus-y scent that I enjoy.

5. Odacite Pe + C Peach Cypress Serum Concentrate for Combination Skin: I think this worked nicely in balancing my skin out as I was starting to break out a lot when I started using it and it seemed to help reduce the breakouts.

6Klorane Eye Contour Smoothing and Relaxing Patches: While I didn't find these to be super smoothing I did find them sticky - that said they made my under-eye area look very vibrant, awake, and hydrated so I appreciate that. I liked them a lot.

7. Studio 35 Beauty Manuka Honey Detoxifying MaskThis was by far the weirdest face mask I've ever used - its consistently is very snot-like and it peels off after it dries. I didn't find that it had any amazing effects on my skin.

8. Comfort Care Essentials Revitalizing Conditioner: I wasn't really expecting much from this conditioner given that it's a little thing left in hotels but it actually provides a nice, light hydration.

9. Otaku Scents Ami (Sailor Mercury): I will say that although this candle smelled nice and the artwork is adorable - it just burns poorly and unevenly. I wanted to love these candles from Otaku Scents so much but their uneven burning leaves a lot to be desired. I may get wax tarts from them in the future but I've given up on the candles.

10. Sol Janeiro Brazilian Bum Bum Cream Fast Absorbing Body Cream: Folks, this stuff smells INCREDIBLE and I love that the scent of it lingers on my skin all day. Yum! It leaves my skin feeling soft, silky, and well-hydrated.

11Comfort Care Essentials Gentle Cleansing Shampoo: As with the conditioner, I really wasn't expecting to be wowed by this in any sense but found that it did a pretty decent job of cleaning my hair without causing it to feel dry or stripped.

12. red cherry Eyelashes in Molla: This are a nice natural, wispy lash style. I like that it gives my eyes a more open appearance but is still fairly natural-looking.

13. skinfix Eczema Balm: Forever a hero product in my collection because it genuinely helps my eczema clear up and I love that it contains ingredients that help calm and soothe the skin that ultimately help to rebuild broken skin versus causing more problems down the line. I love that I can use this long-term on stubborn eczema patches without worrying that it will cause my skin harm.

14. Odacite Pf+O Passion Fruit-Orange Serum Concentrate for Dull Skin: This serum smells lovely and I find that it boosts the hydration levels of my moisturizer but I didn't really feel like it added any extra radiance to my complexion.

15.Revive Foaming Cleanser Enriched Hydrating Wash x2: I love this cleanser so much - it produces a beautiful rich, hydrating foam and does a wonderful job of cleansing my face whilst leaving my skin feeling refreshed-yet-hydrated. Unfortunately it's too pricey for me to go out and purchase on my own.

16. dermalogica Skinperfect Primer SPF 30: I love that this has SPF in it but that's where the love ends. I personally don't love heavy silicone-feeling primers and this is certainly in that alley. I feel like my makeup just slips off it and I  don't like its texture.

17. Everyday Minerals Jojoba Base in Rosy Fair 0C: I picked up a sample of this as I've used it years ago and really liked this color at the time. That said, this time around I felt that this didn't provide me with adequate coverage and in fact managed to move around any concealer I'd place under it. :/

18. Dove Purely Pampering Relaxing Lavender Body Wash: I really like using these to shave as they leave my skin feeling very soft and smooth, last longer than shave gel, and provide a good lather/glide for my razor.

19. Natura Bisse Diamond White Rich Luxury Cleanse: I found this cleanser to be really odd - it's a gel to milk type of texture that doesn't foam at all. My issue with these milky non-foaming cleansers is that I feel they never rinse cleanly and leave a residue on my skin. Now technically I know the residue is meant to hydrate and seal in moisture but honestly it just feels like a weird film on my skin that feels... unclean. This smells nice and the film bit isn't too bad but it's there and I don't like it.

20. Tocca Gia: I absolutely love this scent - it's a beautiful fruity floral that feels light and summery. It just smells so good!!!

21. dermalogica multivitamin power recovery masque: This mask feels intensely hydrating - and heavy - on the skin. I think it would work great if you were to use it directly after a peel or microdermabrasion or any intense skin treatment. Otherwise, it feels like too much and my skin was left red and irritated after I removed it. This feels like it leaves some residue behind and I wasn't a fan of that.

22. Lune + Aster Under Eye Brightener in Original: This is a fantastic sheer, good on its own but good under concealer, eye brightener. It does a wonderful job of disguising shadows, darkness, and general lack-of-sleep on the under-eye area while subtly color correcting. It's also quite moisturizing and has a creamy, easy-to-blend texture.

23. LUSH Dream Cream Body Lotion x2: This is a really nice, hydrating body lotion that hydrates deeply without feeling heavy. Even the soles of my feet feel fairly soft when I use this regularly. My only issue with it, really, is its unscented scent,  which I'm sure folks with sensitive skin like but I just wish this had a scent of some sort. What's really odd is that this contains fragrance and its second ingredient by weight is rose water but it doesn't smell like anything. :/ I wish it smelled like roses, y'all you know I'd be so happy with it.

24. La Roche-Posay Anthelios 60 Ultra Light Sunscreen Fluid: They're not kidding with the name - this stuff is extremely lightweight and fluid/liquid-y. I used it as a moisturizer with my Odacite serum oils mixed in and I find that worked really well as this is rather matte on its own.

25. Everyday Minerals Jojoba Base in Rosy Ivory 1C: Ironically, compared to the last time I had samples of these, I prefer this shade over the OC, I find that it matches my skin perfectly and added extra coverage on top of my liquid foundation.

26. Dr. Barbara Sturm Face Mask: This is by far the most hydrating clay mask I've ever used - it's a good balance because it feels like a hydrating mask but contains kaolin to absorb excess oil. I like that it rinses off clean but leaves my skin feeling hydrated.

27. Bath & Body Works Heirloom Apple Scented Candle: Put simply this is a true apple-scented candle - really crisp and clean.

28. dermalogica antioxidant hydramist: I used this stuff as a setting spray after I finished my makeup - I know it's not meant to keep makeup in place and is actually meant to be a toner but I tend to like sprays like this that hydrate after I do my makeup just to restore hydration to the skin. I found this worked decently in the hydration department but has an odd unscented type scent that I'm not into.

29. Colourpop Ultra Matte Lip in Jellies: So I was wearing this a few days back and when I went to reapply I pulled out what I thought was the wand wiper - except it wasn't, it was some kind of silicone rubbery squishy thing and the wand wiper was still in the packaging. I'm genuinely unsure if it was part of the wand wiper or something else entirely but to err on the side of caution I'll be tossing this.

30. Odacite Aventurine Kiss Lip Serum: Overall I didn't love this - it hydrates alright and didn't dispense all that well until I removed the aventurine crystal. Once I did, this stuff went fast although that's not surprising given that I essentially removed its stopper.

31. fresh Vitamin Nectar Vitamin C Glow Powder: This is a great smelling exfoliating treatment. Though they call it a foaming facial... mine hardly foamed up at all. I think it's nice and it left my skin feeling very soft and smooth afterwards but honestly I feel like it's just a pricey facial exfoliant - it doesn't stay on long enough to do anything other than remove dead skin.

32. Everyday Minerals Cheek Luminous Blush in Lavender Fields: This is a really gorgeous purple-y blush. In fact out of the more purple-toned blushes this is by far my favorite, it has a really beautiful pearlescent finish. I feel like if I didn't have so many blushes I might go ahead and pick this up in a full size.

33. Trader Joe's Tea Tree Oil: I'll be honest with y'all - once upon a time I really liked the way tea tree oil smelled but something happened and now I don't love it at all. That said this stuff is really multipurpose so I continue to purchase it. I use this to mix in with the solution I use to clean my air conditioner to prevent mold, as a treatment for athlete's foot, and as a disinfectant/anti-fungal for my oil diffuser.

34. Everyday Minerals Pearl Finishing Dust: I was quite impressed with this item as I expected this to be very shimmery and it just gave my face a beautiful, subtle glow that looked like healthy skin.

35. red cherry Eyelashes in Ryder: These are a beautiful full, thick style that's not too long. I liked them because they gave me a lot of volume and drama.

36. LUSH Rose Jam Shower Gel: I am so sad to have used this up - it smells absolutely delicious - like sweet roses; it leaves me feeling clean and fresh without stripping my skin. I love it so much!

37. Virtue Recovery Conditioner: Another product I am genuinely sad to have used up because I loved it so much. This did a beautiful job of deeply hydrating my hair - making it look and feel very smooth, soft, and shiny but without weighing it down at all!

38. NARS Audacious Lipstick in Anna: This is a beautiful plummy nude - I'm sad to be done with it as it's a great color for any time. Genuinely a "my lips but better" shade that goes perfectly with any look.

39. LUSH Buck's Fizz Body Conditioner: I used this as body lotion and it's really nice and softening. I find that it smells like orange starbursts which is a pleasant scent but I probably won't get this again as it just isn't my favorite scent that they offer and I don't like it enough to buy it again.

40. Fresh Sugar Mint Rush Freshening Lip Treatment: I found this to be rather middle-of-the-road; it was neither too hydrating nor too minty. I think if it was a drugstore item I might get it again but give its price point, it's too pricey for what it is.

41. Odacite Ma + N Marula-Neroli Elasticity Serum Concentrate: This worked alright and did a nice job of lightly hydrating my skin but I don't love its earthy scent and I can't really speak to if it helps with elasticity as my skin is still fairly elastic.

42. Colourpop Brow Pencil in Dope Taupe: I find that the taupe they use in these leans a bit warm but it's a nice, safe, natural shade on a lot of folks - myself included. I really like these pencils as they give great precision, good color payoff, are easy to work with, and stay put nicely throughout the day.

43. Odacite Ca + C Camelina-Chamomile Sensitive Skin Serum Concentrate: I read that this is supposed to be really great for redness along with calming and soothing the skin so when we got samples of it in-store I was SUPER EXCITED to give it a go. Unfortunately I didn't really see a difference in the redness levels of my skin when I was using this.

44.  LUSH Chocolate Lip Scrub : A delicious cocoa-scented sugar scrub. I like sugar scrubs because they're edible and super scrubby but I could probably make something like this at home.

45. Osea Red Algae Mask: This was a nice mud mask - I liked that despite being mud-based it wasn't drying but left my skin feeling cleansed and refreshed.

46. Everyday Minerals Pink Primer: This is probably meant to be used more as the first step in an all-mineral makeup, makeup routine versus being used to set liquid foundation - which is what I attempted to use it for. I'm thinking oh it might brighten my skin because it's pink but really it kind of knocked off most of my concealer and emphasized where I was red... Not severely, but enough to make me not want to get this again.

47. Tree Hut Shea Sugar Scrub in Hawaiian Kukui: As you folks know. these body scrubs are my favorite because they're sugar based and super scrubby. This one has a nice, sweet, tropical scent.

48. Bath & Body Works Love Scented Candle: The only candle I really like in the aromatherapy line - this is a beautiful fresh rose and soft, sweet vanilla scent that's at once a bit herby but soft and romantic all at the same time. I really like it and would get it again.

49. Bath & Body Works Pumpkin Pecan Waffles Scented Candle: A warm, sweet, comforting scent that's great for the cooler months or rainy days. While it's not my favorite scent and one I probably wouldn't pick up on my own it reminds me of my best friend who adores this and I think of him fondly when I burn it.

50. Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder: I like this powder and I feel that its slight yellow tint helps to brighten my under-eye area and reduce redness on the face. That said I find that unless I pack this on to the point my under-eyes look dry that it doesn't set my concealer in place. :/

Disclaimer: I purchased all of the above with the exception of the Odacite, Klorane, Studio 35 Beauty, Comfort Care Essentials, Sol Janeiro, Revive,  dermalogica, Everyday Minerals (samples),  Natura Bisse, Tocca, Lune+Aster, La Roche-Posay, Dr. Barbara Sturm , Soap & Glory , Virtue , NARS,  fresh, Osea, Laura Mercier and  LUSH Lip Scrub products.

March 2019 Empties

All my garbage of the month! :D
Sheet Masks Galore:
innisfree my real squeeze mask in acaiberry: This is a lovely hydrating mask with a light berry scent. I've noticed with these masks that the one that have the little jar icon on the lower right are more hydrating and those with the bottle icon tend to be more lightweight/refreshing.
innisfree skin solution mask in Madecassoside: This is a really nice hydrating mask. It left my skin feeling very soft and smooth. My wife says these have a really good fit and I agree! I feel like sometimes the masks produced for the Korean market tend to be for a more petite face and I like that these work well on faces that are... larger... for lack of a better word.
kina Cosmetics Refining Quinoa Face Mask: I really love this mask! It left my skin feeling very soft and smooth with a nice serum that didn't feel heavy.
Lune + Aster 5 Minute Rescue Mask in Hydrate (Coconut): I found this mask disappointing in several aspects. It did leave my skin hydrated by in a very lightweight way. With coconut I was expecting a creamy serum but the one here is more of a clear gel. It doesn't even smell like coconut, it smells like chemically coconut water. :( It was also a bit too small for my face.
Lune + Aster 5 Minute Rescue Mask in Detox (Grapefruit): Although this is supposed to have more of an astringent pore-tightening effect, I find that it's very refreshing and feels hydrating while its on (not so much after, but it certainly didn't dry me out). It also has a lovely citrusy scent that I really enjoy.
Lune + Aster 5 Minute Rescue Mask in Soothe (Aloe): So I've heard rumors that someone had used this and it reduced her redness so much that she was able to stop wearing foundation. I went into this mask with expectations that it would reduce some of my redness. Nope... no difference. It felt alright, hydrating, refreshing, but also very basic. I just don't think it's worth the money.
papa recipe Bombee Fruitables Orange Squeeze Energy Mask: I'll be real with you all, I don't love the way these masks are folded up because I feel that trying to unfold them stretches them out funny. That said these are mega saturated in serum and leave the skin feeling very hydrated, super supple, and looking radiant. This mask has a delicious citrus-tropical scent.
papa recipe Bombee Fruitables Red Squeeze Intensive Mask:  This mask has a soft berry scent. Frankly I liked the orange one better for its scent and for how it left my skin looking more radiant.
Kina Cosmetics Ceramide Face Mask: A nice, hydrating sheet mask. I think I was expecting this to be more hydrating because of the ceramides that are in it but it was just ok.
Oozoo Bear Aurora Illuminating Mask: This is a nice hydrating mask as well. I think the packaging is absolutely stunning, the sunset /aurora situation is breathtaking but the mask itself is just alright.
papa recipe Bombee Fruitables Yellow Squeeze Brightening Mask: As with the other two masks described above this is loaded with hydrating serum that remains on my skin; making the skin look and feel very hydrated and radiant. This has a mango spice scent that I don't love.
papa recipe Bombee Fruitables Green Squeeze Relaxing Mask: This gave my skin a nice glow. It has this odd sweet yet salad-ish green scent that... I don't find relaxing. The mask is nice but I wouldn't get it again.
papa recipe Bombee Fruitables White Squeeze Balancing Mask: This mask smells strongly of pear essence. I found it to be nice, refreshing, and lightly hydrating whilst imparting a nice radiant glow. This is the last of the Fruitables line that I purchased to try and honestly, as much as I like that the serum stays on your face while you're using this and after you remove the mask, which leads to better hydration, I just wasn't wowed by any of them other than the orange. The orange one though, if your skin is dull or dry, get it!!!!
papa recipe Bombee Honey Butter Cream Mask: So y'all know I love the regular honey version of this mask so I figured I'd give this a go. I mean honey butter sounds great, doesn't it? Well in this case no. rather than serum that has a more butter-textured cream (not really a serum) that it's soaked in and comes in two parts - one for the top, and one for the bottom, of your face. Frankly I found the fit to be a tad bit too small. In addition, the texture of this is heavy and is probably best suited for someone with dry skin or someone who likes those heavy textures. Typically I find serum masks help my skincare absorb over the top because I'm sealing in a lot of hydration. When I used this I felt like everything just sits on top of it. This smells delicious but that's about all it has going for it.
papa recipe Bombee Rose Gold Honey Mask Pack: Y'all this mask felt super luxurious from the moment I pulled it out of the packaging. That said, I'm not sure how much benefit the gold here actually has, given that it technically faces away from your skin if you wear the mask as it's intended. That said, the essence in here feels very lovely, hydrating without being heavy, and leaves my skin plum and glowing. It also smells absolutely delicious.

2. Josie Maran Argan Oil: I've had this bottle for several years now, it smells kind of stale, and I've been getting breakouts when I used this so I figure it's best just to toss it.

3. redcherry Eyelashes in #510 x2: These are a really great long but natural-looking lash. A lot of people thought these were my natural lashes which, frankly, is such a compliment because they're so long!

4. Harajuku Lovers Music (Original): My favorite of the Harujuku Lovers scents. This has a nice, sweet, floral scent.

5. R+Co Rodeo Star Thickening Style Foam: Although I used this up completely it's not my favorite mousse at all. I found that it gave my hair a very weird texture without really giving it a thicker feeling or look.

6Tree Hut Shea Sugar Scrub in Tropical Mango: This was the first scent I ever got and it got me hooked on these scrubs. I'd say they are BY FAR my favorite - I love their degree of scrubbiness and how they don't leave your shower floor oily.

7. Trish McEvoy Instant Eye Lift: This is a color-corrector and brightener for the under-eye area. It's ok, albeit kind of dry-ish in texture. I wish it were more hydrating!

8. Bath & Body Works Kitchen Lemon & Mint Deep Cleansing Hand Soap: This has a very lovely, refreshing and uplifting scent. I like it a lot! It foams nicely and keeps my hands feeling clean without being stripped of moisture.

9. Colourpop Lippie Stix in Topanga: I'm sad to be tossing this as it's such a pretty nude-ish coral that just goes with any look so perfectly. Alas, I've used it all up.

10. Molton Brown Vintage with Elderflower Body Lotion: This smells absolutely beautiful and the lotion itself is lightweight. I found that it hydrated my legs well but, as is fairly typical, it didn't do much to hydrate the soles of my feet as much as I would've wanted it to.

11innisfree Moisture-Volumizing Serum with Lave Seawater: This is a very watery, lightweight, hydrating serum. Personally I prefer serums with a bit more of a viscous consistency. It was alright but I wouldn't go out and buy it.

12. Dove Purely Pampering Relaxing Lavender Body Wash: As I've mentioned with these in the past I really like to use them for shaving my legs. This is hydrating and provides a great glide for my razor. I don't go through these nearly as often as I do with shaving foam - once a month versus once a week or so. It also has a beautiful lavender scent.

13. Skinfood Black Sugar Strawberry Wash Off : I'm sad to be done with this. It smells absolutely delicious, does a wonderful job of exfoliating my skin and leaves my skin feeling very soft and smooth after use.

14. Bath & Body Works Happy Island Papaya Scented Candle: This has such a pretty tropical fruity scent mixed with a fresh ocean breeze scent. It's so nice and summery, I'm sad to part ways with it but alas, it's all gone.

15.Bath & Body Works Good At Naps Anti-Bacterial Hand Gel: This is a lavender scented hand sanitizer. I liked it ok, it did the job.

16. Harmon Face Values Natural Castile Liquid Soap in Soothing Lavender: Folks, frankly I love castile soap to wash my brushes with as it removes makeup well and keeps them soft, but that said, this smells very artificial and I'm glad to be done with it. On the plus side this bottle lasted nearly an entire year.

17. GlamGlow Good in Bed Passionfruit Softening Night Cream: I find this to be an alright moisturizer. It is nicely hydrating without being heavy but I'd say it's just ok, I'm not wowed by it. It smells nice.

18. Luxie 205 Tapered Blending Brush: This brush was great when I first started using it, does the job, blends eyeshadow well. It's synthetic so you can use it for cream and powder formulations. That said the bristles have loosened from the ferule and now it's shaped all funky. For that reason I am letting this go.

19. Bath & Body Works Tea & Lemon Scented Candle: As always I'm so sad that I'm done with this candle - its lemon tea scent is just so comforting to me. I've been drinking lemon tea as far back in time as I can remember, since I was a wee child, so I find the idea of it VERY comforting.

20. Briogeo Scalp Revival Charcoal + Coconut Oil Micro-Exfoliating Shampoo: I think this is technically supposed to help with dandruff because it physically exfoliates dead skin off the scalp. I will say that since using it I haven't had any major dandruff flare-ups, I think maybe once or twice I may have had a bout of the flakies but they vanished quickly. This is GIGANTIC because I used to always get quite thick, patchy dandruff especially in the winter-time - it's possible I have scalp eczema as the patches were sometimes thick and plaque-like. :/ Anyhow my scalp is fairly flake-free now when I use this. My only beef is that this has a rather medicinal, herbal scent that I'm not a fan off.

21. Tree Hut Shea Sugar Scrub in Pomegranate Acai: This is a very clean, slightly sweet and fruity-scented sugar scrub. Y'all know I love these, I don't have to add much more. :P

22. Christophe Robin Cleansing Volumizing Paste with Pure Rassoul Clay and Rose Extracts: I'm sad that this is gone because this product really works. Initially I thought it was a styling product and only later understood that it's kind of a scalp scrub/conditioner. It gives my hair some nice lift and bounce.

23. Lash Star Visionary Lash Adhesive: This is a brush-on lash adhesive, it's pretty standard, no frills. It works.

Disclaimer: I purchased all of the above with the exception of the Josie Maran, R+Co, Molton Brown, GlamGlow, Christophe Robin  and  Trish McEvoy products.
