Serum/Oil Review: The Ordinary 100% Plant-Derived Squalane

The Ordinary 100% Plant-Derived Squalane

AvailabilityThis retails at $9 for 30 ml (1 oz.) and can be purchased at sephora.com, ulta.com or deciem.com along with their physical store locations. It is also available at skinstore.com and beautybay.com

Would I buy this again?: Yes, absolutely!

What is this product designed to address?
According to deceim.com:
Squalane is a saturated and stable hydrocarbon that is found naturally in the skin. It has very high emollience, is an exceptional hydrator and can prevent ongoing loss of hydration that impairs dermal suppleness. Squalane is non-comedogenic and is suitable for use on all skin types. It can also be applied to hair to increase heat protection, add shine and reduce breakage potential.
Note: This product uses 100% pure plant-derived Squalane that is ECOCERT approved and is a USDA Certified Bio-based Product.
Directions
Apply a few drops daily or as needed to entire face ideally after water-based treatments. If irritation occurs, cease use and consult a physician. Use only as directed on unbroken skin. Patch testing prior to use is advised. Keep out of reach of children.
Squalane may sound like a boring thing but it actually is a simple thing that does so much for skin and hair that we can just go on and on without end. It is a natural hydrocarbon that is present in the skin, helping to prevent loss of hydration and to improve suppleness. Unlike plant oils, Squalane is completely non-greasy, is exceptionally pure and stays stable in varying UV, temperature and oxidative conditions. Its non-comedogenic emollience hydrates while improving visible elasticity and texture. If you use it on your hair, it offers heat protection, stops moisture loss and prevents breakage. We basically use it everywhere. Our Squalane is 100% pure, 100% colourless, 100% odourless, 100% non-greasy and comes from 100% sustainable plant sources. You will 100% fall in love with it from the very first date.

Does it contain any special/beneficial ingredients?
Because this is 100% plant derived (sugarcane, if you're wondering) squalane and its benefits are described above this part is redundant. :D

What is the texture like?
This has a very lightweight oil feeling.

Is it scented?
This has no discernible scent.

My overall experience/comments on the product:
Ever since I started using my beloved Indie Lee Squalane Facial Oil I became OBSESSED with squalane. I love the way it makes my skin look - by reducing redness and inflammation, and feel  soothed, free of flakes and irritation, hydrated, radiant that at $9 for this.... I had to pick it up and see how it compares and I have to say that this is a respectable dupe. It's lightweight, it makes my skin feel soft and gives it a beautiful radiance. I'm excited to continue using this.

Please let me know if you have any questions or comments.

Disclaimer: I purchased this myself.
