Makeup Remover review: Maya Chia The Great Cleanse Nourishing Cleansing Oil

'Ello folksickles. Today's review will be for Maya Chia The Great Cleanse Nourishing Cleansing Oil

Availability: This retails at $48 for 3.4 fl. oz. (100 mL) and can be purchased at bluemercury.com, macys.com, thedetoxmarket.com, bergdorfgoodman.com or credobeauty.com along with their physical store locations as well as mayachia.com, theartofpure.com, and verishop.com.

Would I buy this?: Probably not.

What is this product designed to address?
According to mayachia.com:
Effortlessly remove the day’s makeup for deeply hydrated skin that glows from within.
Nourishing supercritical chia oil restores moisture for supple skin and the appearance of a more even complexion. Our proprietary blend of oils gently and effortlessly dissolves makeup and impurities completely. Soothing natural botanicals, such as Roman Chamomile, Lavender, Neroli, and Absolute Jasmine, calm the skin for a radiant glow.

Does it contain any special/beneficial ingredients?
Other than what's already been mentioned above:
Sunflower Oil, Apricot Kernel Oil, Safflower Seed Oil: These are all rich in the antioxidant Vitamin E and have nourishing properties.
Mandarin Essential Oil: Has anti-inflammatory properties.
Clary Sage Essential Oil: Helps skin heal from infections.

What is the texture like?
This has a silky, smooth-yet-oily texture to it.

Is it scented?
This has a fairly prominent floral scent that is dominated by the lavender notes with just a hint of citrus.

My overall experience/comments on the product:
I appreciate that this, while it is oily, that it rinses off cleanly without leaving a residue behind. It does a decent job of removing makeup - this doesn't really do anything to remove waterproof eyeliner - and it  leaves my skin feeling soft. That said I'm just all about a creamy cleanser and my makeup remover microfiber cloths. With that being said, I enjoy cleansing oils and doing the double cleanse in the winter months in particular because the oils add a little extra layer of hydration to the skin (albeit, it does essentially get washed away during the foaming cleanser stage).

Please let me know if you have any questions or comments.
