MAKE UP FOR EVER D-316, S-314, D-236, D-200, ME-224, and I-112 Artist Shadows Review

Today I'll be reviewing the MAKE UP FOR EVER Artist Shadows in D-316, S-314, D-236, D-200, ME-224, and I-112.
Availability: This is available at sephora.com and makeupforever.com as well as their respective physical store/boutique locations. Here's how pricing works, each individual shadow without a case is $17, $29 for 2 shadows and a case, $39 for 3 eyeshadows and a case, $49 for 4 shadows and a case, and/or $59 for 6 eyeshadows and a case. The shades that are still available are: S-314, D-236, and ME-224.
Would I buy this again?: Damn right I would.
Notes: Confession - I disliked a large majority of MAKE UP FOR EVER's older eyeshadow formula because the texture was dry, you had to work with them a certain way to get them to work for you, they weren't the most user friendly if you were a noob and just... the pigmentation on some was lacking... I loved MAKE UP FOR EVER as a brand but just not the shadows. Then these came and I developed a big crush on MAKE UP FOR EVER all over again. These are unique, fantastic, buttery, smooth, and amazing. Just... they really surpassed my expectations so I just had to pick up a few mermaid colors to add to my collection. Take a gander and then like... go buy some. Do it. You won't be disappointed. I also really like how sleek the cases are. They don't take up much space at all and it's nice that they're refillable and customizable.
Diamond is my new favorite finish. Most diamond finish shadows are a frost formula loaded with this awesome micro-glitter that sticks around where you place it. They have the most glorious shine and if you remotely like shiny or glittery you NEED them. They kind of remind me of a pressed version of the Sugarpill Chromalusts. D-316 is described as a crystalline pinky green. It's a gorgeous iridescent chartreuse that indeed has a crystalline quality and is loaded with pink starburst micro-glitter. It is just so unique and unlike most other greens. I obviously needed it.
This happened to be my I don't know what else to choose but I want a free shadow color. I do like minty greens so... yolo? But there's this diamond finish purple that I wish I'd have chosen instead. S-314 is described as a Nile green with a satin finish. In person it reads more of a mid-tone mint green. It's actually a lot prettier on than it looks in the pan. :/
D-236 is described as a lagoon blue with a diamond finish. MERMAID PARADISE. That's what I would call this... I just want to slap it and my Inglot teals on and roll around in the goodness. It's this gorgeous aquatic teal with these aquamarine starburst glitters that look exactly like the necklace my bestie got me for my birthday. It's like they crushed up a second one of the necklaces and stuck it in this shadow. Like... I clearly needed it. If you are a mermaid you need it too.
D-200 is described as a crystalline mauve turquoise. I would say the base is a cool-toned off-white with a strong teal iridescence and whitish-teal starburst micro-glitter. Such unique. Much sparkle. Very joy!
ME-224 is described as a navy blue with a metallic finish. I would say it's more of a black with an intense navy iridescence. I really wanted a color like this that would be strongly blue and LOVE this. So glad I got it.

Last but not least comes I-112 which is described as a chrome with an iridescent finish. It's this awesome cool-toned almost... periwinkle/cornflower gray. Digging it. It's so unique and works so well to bring out the warmth in my eye-color.

Please let me know if you have any questions or comments.

Eyeshadow/Eyeliner Review: MAKE UP FOR EVER I-30 AQUA MATIC

Today's review is going to be on MAKE UP FOR EVER AQUA MATIC in I-30
As a base and on the upper lash-line and waterline
Availability: This has been discontinued.
Would I buy this again? I think I would.
Notes: This color is described as a(n) iridescent lime green. I'd have to agree with that; it's quite a beautiful color that makes my eyes pop. Had to! The texture is really nice and smooth, it gives you say 20-30 seconds to blend the color out before it sets. I want to say its life on the waterline is about 8-10 hours, which isn't so bad. Honestly speaking I've never worn this as eyeshadow without primer under it and the one time I didn't I had glitter over it so... I can't tell you how well this wears on its own. I have observed that it breaks down on people with oily eyelids. Let me put this out there that if you're eyelids are oily what you want to be using is some sort of oil-absorbing powder on top of your lids... dusted on very gently after primer and before any other shadows. Oil breaks down waterproof products so it should be no surprise that waterproof products don't last on you.

MAC Cosmetics Nanogold, Honey Lust, Ricepaper, Gorgeous Gold, Rated "R", One-Off, Jealousy Wakes, Shimmermoss, Clarity, Tilt, and Crystal Eyeshadow Review

Today I'll be reviewing MAC Eyeshadows in Nanogold, Honey Lust, Ricepaper, Gorgeous Gold, Rated "R", One-Off, Jealousy Wakes, Clarity, Tilt, and Crystal
Availability: MAC shadows are currently available at maccosmetics.com, macys.com, nordstrom.com,  ulta.com, bloomingdales.com and their respective physical store locations and retail at $18 a piece for eyeshadows in a casing or $8 for a palette refill.  Um... save yourself $10 and just get a pan. The weight of each shadow varies by shade but they all average around 1.3 g -1.5 g (.04 oz - 0.05 z) of product each.
Would I buy this again?: Honestly I probably wouldn't repurchase most of these shades.
Notes: Given that, over the years, I've narrowed down my collection of MAC singles to just this handful I've decided to include all of them in this post. Unfortunately, when MAC was purchased by Estee Lauder, the quality of their eyeshadow took quite the dip so I can't promise that if you go out and buy these (well the ones you can still buy) that they'll be as good as the batch I have.
Nanogold  has a lustre finish; I'd describe it as a soft gold base with a pink pearl. This is an incredibly subtle shade and one that I like to use mainly as a highlight shade for the inner corner of the eye, the center of the lid, or for the cheekbones. At the time I purchased this shade it was fairly unique but as of the time I'm editing this post (2021) it is a shade that can easily be found in many palettes with a far better pigment payoff (I mean specifically this soft gold with a pinkish pearl). This specific eyeshadow has been discontinued.
Honey Lust is described as a bronze dipped peach and has a lustre finish; I'd describe it as a mid-tone pink champagne color with a golden pearl.
Ricepaper is described as a peachy gold with shimmer and has a frost finish; I'd say this is a soft warm off-white beige-y color with a white pearl. It has more of a satiny than a frosty quality to it.
Gorgeous Gold is described as a muted yellow gold with a veluxe pearl finish; I'd agree with the description except they completely leave out the amazing green shift that this has and that's my whole reason to get it, the awesome green shift.
Rated "R" has a starflash finish; I'd describe it as a shimmery golden chartreuse. This shade has been discontinued.
One-Off  has a starflash finish; I'd say this is a shimmery grass green. This shade has been discontinued.
Jealousy Wakes is described a seething emerald green with teal and gold pearl and has a veluxe pearl finish; I'd say it's a satiny cool-toned green base with a soft bluish pearl and very sporadic gold micro-shimmer particles. This shade has been discontinued.
Shimmermoss has a veluxe pearl finish; I'd describe it as a soft shimmery teal with a golden teal pearl. This shade has been discontinued and I am low-key a bit shocked as this has been a part of their permanent collection for a long time.
Clarity has a matte squared finish; I'd say this is a bluish cyan shade. This takes me back to the days when matte squared was like THE matte formula to have because they were so smooth and easy to blend whereas most mattes were chalky and difficult to work with. I'm glad those days are past and we, as consumers, are holding companies to a higher standard. This shade has been discontinued.
Tilt is described as a violet with blue-green pearl and has a frost finish; I'd describe it as a grayish periwinkle base shade with a golden teal pearl.
Crystal has a frost finish; I'd say this is a subtle cool-toned grayish lavender with a pinkish purple pearl to it. This shade has been discontinued.
