Mask Review: Freeman Detoxifying charcoal + black sugar Mud Mask

'Ello folksickles. Today's review will be for the Freeman Detoxifying charcoal + black sugar Mud Mask.

Availability:  This retails anywhere from $2 for the sample packet I have in the photographs above - 0.5 fl. oz. (15 mL) to anywhere from $5 - $8 for the full sized tube - 6 fl. oz.

Would I buy this again? Possibly.

What is this product? What is it supposed to do?
According to freemanbeauty.com:
Introducing Detoxifying Charcoal & Black Sugar Mud Facial Mask Sachet. This velvety, jet-black mud mask works like magic to moisturize, remineralize, and make skin sensationally soft! Skin-loving minerals collected from the Dead Sea have a natural nourishing effect that boosts smoothness and overall skin health. Activated Charcoal locks onto oils and toxins, then gently lifts them away without over-drying or disturbing skin. Black Sugar helps skin hold on to hydration, which helps smooth out roughness and fine lines. Perfect for normal to combination skin.

Does this contain any special/beneficial ingredients?
Bentonite and Kaolin Clay: Help treat breakouts and regulate sebum production. Absorbs excess sebum.
Glycerin: Helps attract moisture to the skin.
Activated Charcoal: Cleanses sebum and dirt off skin without being irritating or stripping the skin.
Banana Extract: Has hydrating qualities.
Coconut Extract: Has hydrating and anti-inflammatory properties.
Aleurites Moluccanus Seed Extract: Has anti-inflammatory and wound-healing properties.
Ginger Root Extract: Has anti-oxidant and brightening properties.
Psidium Guajava Fruit Extract and Kelp Extract: Have anti-oxidant properties.
Papaya Extract: Has anti-oxidant and exfoliating properties.
Raspberry Extract and Nasturtium Officinale Extract: Have anti-inflammatory properties.
Sandalwood Extract: Has hydrating properties.
Maranta Arundinacea Extract: Has exfoliating and brightening properties.

What is the texture like?
I would describe this as a "soft" clay mask; meaning that it doesn't excessively dry out the skin as it dries - this does make the skin feel a tiny bit tight as it dries but it's not uncomfortably dry.

Is this scented?
This has an herbaceous, tea-like scent to it.

What has my experience with the product been like?
So, as I stated above I really appreciate that this mask doesn't cause my skin to dry out and become tight as it dries on my skin. My skin feels super smooth and silky when I wash this off. I feel like, while nothing really gets rid of my sebaceous filaments - and I don't think anything will 100%, it makes them seem a lot less prominent.

Love It Or Leave It; Review 2.0: ColourPop Just My Luck Pressed Powder Palette

Hello folksickles. As a makeup junkie and blogger you may have realized that I review a LOAD of eyeshadow palettes and I like to think of myself as being largely an eyeshadow junkie. In order to de-clutter a bit  I've decided to pick out a palette or series of eyeshadows for the month and have that be my monthly selection for those instances where I'm not doing a tutorial for the blog. Every month I'll do a recap on the eyeshadows - how I feel about them and whether I'll be keeping them or giving them away (and why :P) as well as if I think it's worth its price tag.

You can find a look I did with the palette here. These are the looks I created this month:
So as you can see I created some smoky, some bright, green looks. I really love the quality of this palette - the color payoff is excellent, the shadows are beautiful, and they blend well. I absolutely adore the selection of greens in this palette - it contains both warm and cool-toned shades in both metallic and matte finishes which enables one to create quite the variety of looks. I honestly love its versatility and I love the way green looks with my brown eyes so I will definitely be holding onto this palette.

Please let me know if you have any questions or comments.

Disclaimer: I purchased this myself.

So as you can see I created some soft, some smoky, green looks. I really love the quality of this palette - the color payoff is excellent, the shadows are beautiful, and they blend well. That being said, Lay Out is a difficult shade to blend out. Despite my love of chartreuse, I just don't see myself reaching for this palette, I will be passing it along.

Candle Review: Greenleaf Dahlia & White Musk

Hi folks, so I have another home fragrance post for you.

Candle: Greenleaf Dahlia & White Musk
Availability:  This currently retails at $20 for 13 oz.
Would I buy this again?: I'm unsure.
Notes: According to greenleafgifts.com this candle is supposed to have the following notes: Mysterious and sweet, Dahlia and White Musk is a velvety floral fragrance filled with bright notes of currant, crisp pear, and a flowery trio of jasmine, rose, and mimosa.
I personally find that it smells the same both cold or hot - that being said, I don't catch any of the notes mentioned above except maybe a hint of the mimosa. It smells like a slightly powdery, floral, white musk scent to me. I wish I could smell more of the fruit rather than the powder because as I've mentioned, I don't love powdery scents. I think this might work better as a perfume honestly because my body chemistry tends to make things pull a bit sweeter but alas.
I find that this candle has a very nice throw and scents up my entire room.

Please let me know if you have any questions or comments.
