Urban Decay Oz The Great and Powerful Glinda Palette Review

Today I bring to you the Urban Decay Oz The Great and Powerful Glinda Palette.
AvailabilityThis palette is discontinued.
Would I buy this again? No.
Notes:  So frankly I think this palette is pretty but it's a bit stale in that all the shades are very soft and I feel like the looks created with this palette sooner or later start seeming similar to one another due to a lack of variety and depth in the shades selected here. The quality of the shadows is really nice, as one would expect from Urban Decay - they're soft, highly-pigmented, and easy to blend. I also really don't like that the shade names are on the back of the pans but aren't on the back of the palette, so if you want to know the name you have to pop out the shadow. I find that rather inconvenient.

Tornado is described as a vibrant deep purple shimmer. I would say it's a blackened eggplant with a purple pearl.

Aura  is described as an iridescent white with blue shift/iridescent white with red shift. I would say it's an off white with blue shift/an off white with a pink shift - it reads more pink than red to me .

Magic  is described as a pinkish purple with a golden shimmer. I would say it's a very soft satiny pinkish magenta with an subtle golden pearl .

Illusion is described as a pale peach satin. I would agree with their description here.

Oz is described as a gold with gold glitter/silver with silver glitter. I would say it's a cool toned gold with silver micro-glitter/ a silver with silver micro-glitter .

South is described as a warm pale gray shimmer with silver micro-glitter. I would say it's a mid-tone pewter-y taupe with silver micro-shimmer.

Please let me know if you have any questions or comments.

Lipstick Review: ColourPop Jenneration X Lippie Stix

ColourPop Lippie Stix in Jenneration X

Availability: This  has been discontinued.
Would I buy this? Yes.
Notes: I'd say this is a warm reddish orange with a powdery finish, it's definitely matte but I find it to be comfortable and fairly non-drying. However, being that this is matte, it can certainly emphasize dry or flaky texture on the lips.  It wore for about 6 hours without much fading and didn't bleed. It didn't really come off when I ate but it did transfer onto my food which... I'm not a fan of, I would probably remove my lipstick when attempting to eat. I don't find that this has any particularly discernible scent or flavor to it.

Please let me know if you have any comments or questions.

Disclaimer: ColourPop included this with one of my orders as an apology for being late with said order, I suppose you can consider it a gift-with-purchase.

Lipstick Review: Stila Betsey Color Balm Lipstick

Stila Color Balm Lipstick in Betsey

Availability: This  has been discontinued.
Would I buy this? Maybe.
Notes: This is described as a pink. I'd say this is a cool-toned pink. I would say the finish is fairly glossy.  It wore for about 6 hours without much fading and didn't bleed; the wear is really comfortable  - it doesn't feel dry at all. It did come off when I ate though which isn't an issue for me personally but I know some people want their lipstick to stay put through eating. This has a yummy peppermint candy scent (I know years ago I wouldn't say peppermint and yummy in the same sentence, but alas) that isn't particularly overpowering.

Please let me know if you have any comments or questions.

Kat Von D Spellbinding Eyeshadow Book Look

Hey folks,  today I bring you a bronze-y teal smoky eye.

Enough blabbering, tutorial time!
I  applied the blush from the Lune+Aster Desert Moon Palette as a base for Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush in Nude Glow with my Sephora Collection Pro Mini Airbrush 55.5. I also applied Colourpop Super Shock Shadow in High Tide as a base for the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Metallic Strobe Powder in Champagne Strobe Light using my Sephora Collection #74 PRO Small Blush and Contour brush.

As a base for my eyeshadow I applied MAKE UP FOR EVER D-21 AQUA MATIC and blended it out with my Crown Pro C511 brush.

For the crease I applied birdcage along with fallen with the Sonia Kashuk Essential Blending Crease Brush No. 273 and Crown Pro C511 Brush, respectively.

For the lid  I applied bukowski wet using Mario Badescu Facial Spray with Aloe, Cucumber, and Green Tea and my Crown Pro C510 brush.
To highlight the brow-bone and the inner corner of the eye I applied countess and holy bible using my no-name gigantic paddle brush from Crown and Crown Deluxe Precision Crease brush, respectively

For eyeliner, I went with the Physician's Formula Eye Booster Waterproof Ultra Fine Liquid Eyeliner in Blackest Black with a wing this time. For the waterline I applied Colourpop Creme Gel Liner in Honeydude.

For the lower lash line, I applied gunner and blended it out with birdcage using my Bubbi Detail brush.

The look sans lashes.

For lashes I used Eylure x Jasmine Brown Lashes in Jaybee along with the Callas Eyelash Adhesive in Clear.

Hope that you liked this! :D It was super fun for me to put together! Feel free to request particular songs, animals/nature scenes (I don't do insects of any kind though, sorry, little insect feet and wings creep the bejesus outta me), Pokemon, or Pokemon towns. :P

Please let me know if you have any comments or questions.

Disclaimer: The  Sephora 55.5 brush, Hourglass, and Lune+Aster products were provided for testing purposes. The palette used for this look was given to me by a friend. I paid for everything else you see here myself. Colourpop sent me the lipstick as an apology for being late with my package, so it was a gift-with-purchase.
