Moisturizer Review: dermalogica calm water gel

Today's review will be for the dermalogica calm water gel

AvailabilityThis retails at $52 for 50 ml (1.7 fl. oz.) is available at bluemercury.com, sephora.com, jcpenny.com, nordstron.com, and macys.com along with  their respective physical  store locations as well as demalogica.com, and dermstore.com.

Would I buy this?: No.

What is this product designed to address?
According to sephora.com:
What it is: A weightless water-gel moisturizer that hydrates dry, sensitive skin.
Skin Type: Normal, Dry, Combination, and Oily
Skincare Concerns: redness, Dryness, and Dullness and Uneven Texture
Formulation: Gel
Ingredient Callouts: Free of sulfates SLS and SLES, parabens, formaldehydes, formaldehyde-releasing agents, phthalates, mineral oil, retinyl palmitate, oxybenzone, coal tar, hydroquinone, triclosan, and triclocarban, and contains less than one percent of synthetic fragrances. This product is also vegan, cruelty-free, and gluten-free.
What Else You Need to Know: This refreshing gel formula transforms into a skin-quenching fluid upon application, forming a weightless barrier against pollution. Dual hyaluronic acid technology works in different skin surface layers to increase and lock in moisture.

Does it contain any special/beneficial ingredients?
Again, according to sephora.com:
-Apple Fruit Extract: Helps soften skin.
-Glycerin: Helps hydrate skin.
-Cactus Pear: Helps soothe sensitive skin.

What is the texture like?
As its name implies this is a watery gel. It applies with an explosion of moisture which is very refreshing.

Is it scented?
This has a clean, medicinal scent. It smells like a clean doctor's office.

My overall experience/comments on the product:
I actually really LOVE the texture of this. It provides hydration and smooths out my skin's texture while being super lightweight. I wasn't expecting to like it as much as I do given that many gels aren't hydrating enough for me.

Please let me know if you have any questions or comments.
