Primer Review: m-61 PorePerfect Primer

m-61 PorePerfect Primer

AvailabilityThis is a bluemercury exclusive where it retails at $32 for 30 ml (1.06 fl. oz.).

Would I buy this? No.

What is this product? What is it supposed to do?
Product info according to bluemercury.com:
WHAT IT IS
This silky smooth, gold-flecked transparent primer blurs and diffuses the appearance of pores, fine lines and wrinkles while providing a gentle mattifying, yet radiant effect. Hyaluronic acid, vitamin E, apricot oil and passion fruit oil help to boost moisture for smoother-looking skin.
BENEFITS
• Visibly reduces the appearance of pores, fine lines and wrinkles.
• Creates a “filtered” makeup effect.
• Provides a soft mattifying, yet radiant finish with subtle golden flecks.
• Universal, lightweight and transparent formula.
• Helps extend the wear of makeup.
• Provides a more smooth, even texture for optimal makeup application.

Does this contain any special/beneficial ingredients?
Again, according to bluemercury.com:
Hyaluronic acid helps to plump and replenish the skin’s moisture level.
Vitamin E and apple seed extract help hydrate, repair and protect skin.
Apricot oil helps to provide anti-inflammatory and nourishing benefits.
Passion fruit oil helps to smooth and plump skin.

What is the texture like?
This feels smooth and silicone-y.

Is this scented?
This has a soft, powdery scent.

What has my experience with the product been like?
Honestly I feel like it would've been more accurate to refer to this primer as both priming and hydrating rather than pore-perfecting. Although not always the case, I'm sure many of us, when we read that a product is meant to address some kind of pore issue, we tend to think of it as being geared for an oily skin-type and therefore expect the product to be mattifying or to somehow exacerbate dryness issues... or be friendly for oily skin. Now I, personally, wouldn't suggest this for someone whose skin is very oily because I feel like both the texture and ingredients included herein would exacerbate their oiliness.
I will say, for me personally, I am dry and I didn't find that this dried me out in any way. I would describe the finish of this as being natural - in that it looks like healthy skin - rather than matte (wherein it would look flat). It keeps my makeup on well and makes my skin look smoother. That said, I personally wouldn't purchase this because I prefer a lightweight, more lotion-like or watery texture to my primers. This definitely creates the feeling of there being product on your skin.

Lipstick Review: Sugarpill Slumber Party Bundle

Sugarpill Slumber Party Bundle
Availability: This retails at $43 and is exclusive to sugarpill.com (it appears to be sold out at the moment). Each shade is available individually for $18 each and each shade contains 5.4 ml / .18 oz.. Pillow Fight appears to be the only shade currently in stock.
Would I buy this? I would get just Doll Up.
Notes: I have to come in and say that Sugarpill's liquid lip formulation is one of my favorite on the market, they're very comfortable and don't feel drying (although, because they dry matte, they can emphasize texture) and many of them have a lovely sparkle that intensifies as you wear them. They all have a yummy creamsicle scent.

Pillow Fight is described as a dusty mauve with purple, silver, and gold sparkles, I'd say this is a greige-mauve with gold and purple sparkles.

Doll Up is described as a sweet rose with baby blue and gold, I'd say this is a muted coral with violet and gold sparkles. Now I personally love when corals are paired with purple sparkles so I absolutely ADORE this shade!

Truth or Dare is described as a blackened burgundy with purple and gold sparkles, I'd say that this is a rich blackened raspberry jam shade with gold, silver, and purple sparkles. It's a bit more brown than I personally like but that's neither here nor there.

Please let me know if you have any comments or questions.

Lipstick Review: Sugarpill Petrol Pretty Poison Lip Color

Sugarpill Pretty Poison Lip Color in Petrol

Availability: This appears to have been discontinued.
Would I buy this? Yes.
Notes: This is described as a blue-based red with pink and gold sparkles. I'd shave to agree with their description, although I will say the sparkles are more red rather than pink, but it's definitely got gold in there. Now, I have been searching high and low for a dupe for OCC Super NSFW Lip Tar and you might think that finding a metallic red with gold sparkles wouldn't be so hard but it WAS, every time I stumbled across a metallic red the sparkle in it was also red, not gold, oh I was so heartbroken and just HAD to snag this! It wore for about 4 hours without much fading and didn't bleed.  It didn't really come off when I ate but it did transfer onto my food which... I'm not a fan of, I would probably remove my lipstick when attempting to eat. It has a creamsicle scent to it.

Nail Polish Review: Deborah Lippmann Bo$$ Gel Lab Pro

Nail polish of the week: Deborah Lippmann Gel Lab Pro Nail Polish in Bo$$

What the brush looks like:
My nails with 2 coats of polish, all nails have Orly Won't Chip, Chip Resistant Topcoat on.:
Availability: This appears to have been discontinued.
Would I buy this again?: I feel like $20 is steep for this.

Notes: This is described as a full coverage deep teal shimmer. I'd describe this as  a metallic blackened teal with a teal pearl. I love the way this looks in the bottle but I wish that more bright oceanic teal-purple situation would translate to the nails and it wasn't so... dark.

Lipstick Review: Sugarpill Arctic Sparkle Bundle

Sugarpill Arctic Sparkle Bundle
Availability: This retails at $43.20 and is exclusive to sugarpill.com (it appears to be sold out at this point). Each shade is available individually for $18 each and each shade contains 5.4 ml /.18 oz.. Although Sub-Zero also appears to be sold out. Vertigo and Hijinx are available in a bundle for $36 (so you're not really saving any money vs buying them separately).
Would I buy this again? Yes.

I think it looks A LOT better on my mouth versus swatched
Vertigo is described as a muted smoky purple infused with multi-dimensional teal sparkles, I'd say this is a dark taupe with teal sparkles. Frankly I wish it leaned more purple than taupe, but on my skin tone it's definitely taupe.
Hijinx is described as a deep berry infused with multi-dimensional teal sparkles, I'd say this is a BEAUTIFUL raspberry shade with teal sparkles, you all know I absolutely love it!
Sub-Zero is described as a blackened navy blue infused with multi-dimensional teal sparkles, I'd say that this is a very inky navy with teal sparkles, it looks like the night sky which I think is pretty rad, I will say I don't wear this shade often because it's so dark and intense on me, hence why I probably wouldn't re-purchase this particular shade.
