Departures - December 2019

Ok folksickles. Departure blogs will contain items that aren't empties but that are going to be given away for one reason or another. I'm working hard to curate my makeup collection and want it to include only the products that I think truly work well, that I reach for often and do what they're supposed to do.
1. Urban Decay Naked Honey Brush: This is the brush that comes with the palette and, frankly, I am not a fan - I feel like it doesn't really pick up color very well which makes doing makeup a bit of a chore. I can make it work but it's not really worth the effort when I have brushes that perform much better.

2. Quo Lip Velour in Mango Tango: This product wears beautifully and feels comfortable on the lips but unfortunately this shade of nearly pastel yet not quite but yet intense orange just looks odd on me because it's so intense and opaque. I just don't love it on myself. I wish it were more coral than orange.

Disclaimer: The Quo product was gifted to me by my best friend, I'm sad that it didn't work out.

Love It Or Leave It; Review 2.0: ColourPop Sol Shadow Palette

Hello folksickles. As a makeup junkie and blogger you may have realized that I review a LOAD of eyeshadow palettes and I like to think of myself as being largely an eyeshadow junkie. In order to de-clutter a bit  I've decided to pick out a palette or series of eyeshadows for the month and have that be my monthly selection for those instances where I'm not doing a tutorial for the blog. Every month I'll do a recap on the eyeshadows - how I feel about them and whether I'll be keeping them or giving them away (and why :P) as well as if I think it's worth its price tag. Yes there's two a month now! I figured maybe I could get through more this way :D

For a tutorial I did with this palette you can take a look here. These are the looks I created this month:

I think this palette is really fun and beautiful! Quality-wise I'd say all the shades feel fairly smooth, blend well, are buttery, and have good pigmentation. As I said in my October 2019 Favorites post I am really blown away by how versatile and flattering this palette is (haha you can see how behind I am with posting these because that's where the photos are from) - I am very happy to hold onto it.

Disclaimer: I purchased this myself.
